Apr 24th 2011 7:09PM The thing with Southshore is that it was a town of military significance since it was a harbor town. And the battles between Tarren Mill and Southshore pre-cata proved that Southshore would not lay down arms. So the Forsaken were forced to destroy the town if they wished to secure Hillsbrad.
Taurajo was a little different. The Alliance's first action was burning it down and attacking it in a way that ensured they could kill as many of its inhabitants as possible. I'm sure that if the Alliance marched in and laid siege as opposed to firebombing it on first site the taurens would probably have surrendered. Then the Alliance could just take prisoners and do a trade off with the Horde for their Alliance prisoners.
But that's not how it happened. They just swept in and started attacking without giving them a chance to flee or negotiate terms of surrender.
Apr 24th 2011 6:23PM Me too. I love the South Barrens Horde story and I want to hear how blizz differed each side.
Apr 24th 2011 6:21PM Great article as always.
I was wondering when in the muddled warcraft timeline did the Horde attack the Night Elves in Ashenvale. Was it before or after what happened in the Southern Barrens? And I'm not talking about the ongoing Warsong Gluch conflict or the faked Horde attack seen in the Shattering. I'm talking about when the Horde started the major offensive that would eventually take Maestra's Post.
Thanks for any insight that you could give.
Apr 24th 2011 3:58PM I think she'll remain a ruler. There are other faction leaders (Gallywix, possibly Sylvanas) that will probably get the boss treatment sooner then her.
Apr 24th 2011 2:25PM Is it ever stated how dwarves discovered how to use magic? I thought magic was discovered by the Highborne then carried on through the High Elves who then taught it to humans.
But then I realized that Thaurissan of the Dark Irons was one of the most powerful mages in the world way before elves started teaching humans.
So is magic and arcane really a secret art that only a few learn or is it something that most races will pick up over time?
Apr 18th 2011 9:58AM Hey, has there ever been any discussion on doing this series with various raid bosses?
Heroic bosses are coll and all but I feel some classic raid bosses are more steeped in lore and would have some of the most interesting fights.
Apr 16th 2011 7:32PM Ladygamertn, I feel you may have missed the point of Dennis's post
Apr 4th 2011 8:39PM Great header image! How was it made?
Mar 21st 2011 9:32PM I agree here.
Orc warrior in full level 85 plate looks ridiculous on a pony.
