Mar 23rd 2012 9:08AM I haven't seen anyone say this, but I'm quite disappointed by the announcement that Garrosh would be the ultimate baddie in the expansion. I'm excited by the development, but I think it would have played better if we were surprised when we found out. It would have been fun to play and, as each patch releases, watch him slowly go insane until the final patch and "Whoa! We're going to have a coup???!" Now, we already know what's going to develop and I think that's potentially going to take some of the fun out of it for me.
Mar 15th 2012 9:16AM Murlocs are one of the most regular memories of the murderers I met early in my WoW life. Particularly the ones in Elwynn forest around Crystal Lake.
That said, I have a more specific grudge. I was around level 19 and working my way to Menethil Harbor. I was staying carefully on the road, as one of the tips on the loading screen implied I'd be safe if I did that. I was just about to cross that last bridge into Menethil when a crocolisk attacked me EVEN THOUGH I WAS ON THE ROAD! I fought valiantly, but, alas I perished. I was pissed, so I let him kill me three more times hoping I'd have a chance *this* time. No joy.
For months after that I killed that sucker whenever I was there. If he wasn't by the bridge I'd head off into the swampy fields and find him. I rarely have reason to be walking into Menethil these days, but if I were to do so, I promise, there'd be crocolisk stew for dinner.
Mar 4th 2012 10:24AM I really love the music and ambiance on the Isle of Qual Danis. I suspect it's probably the same music as Blood Elves get, but I generally play Alliance, so I don't know. I find that music to be eerie and reminiscent of the Wizard of Oz.
Jan 23rd 2012 11:40AM It doesn't sound to me like you have the temperament to be a good GM. Maybe you should smoke something a little less potent.
Dec 15th 2011 12:56PM Merry Veil!
Dec 7th 2011 1:54PM /facepalm
Nov 17th 2011 1:57PM "trash"? You're one of the people ruining the game, IMO.
Nov 17th 2011 11:37AM Fact: Blizzard is a for profit company. It's the 10.3 million people currently playing that define the experience. If WoW has been "dumbed down" since vanilla, as is clearly the case, yet retained its user base (mostly) it's because that's what the majority wanted to happen. If the fact that Cataclysm was notably more difficult than Wrath had anything to do with the loss of nearly 2 million players, Blizzard will, and should, take note. (I don't think that's the reason, but it's pretty difficult to fix "burnout").
It appears Pandara will cater more to the masses and give players many, many more options in end-game than they have today. Blizzard is betting that's what the majority of players want, and expects to see subscriptions rise once again as a result. If they do increase, then the hubbub will come from the ever-screaming vocal minority.
Are people getting "lazy"? I don't know. But games are for fun, not work. If it feels like work, it's not fun. Blizzard knows that also. I, personally, think that end-game in Cataclysm is far, far inferior to what it was in Wrath. I'm in the majority there. It's just that most of us don't post to forums and comment boards.
Nov 15th 2011 12:12PM It happened *last* Tuesday, at least on US realms. But it's definitely much rarer.
Nov 15th 2011 12:08PM @Mir - me too! And whenever I'm leveling a toon on an alternate server I feel sort of guilty that I'm earning experience that my guild isn't benefiting from. I also wish there was another profession or two so that I had a few less toons maxed out at the same prof.
