The Queue: Portalclysm 2, the Portalening {WoW}

May 3rd 2011 11:15AM About the Maintainance Tuesday: my guess would have that it ideal because Monday is needed to clean up any mess that might have occured during the weekend. And if something goes wrong during maintainance especially with new patches the guys in the Blizzards offices have most of the working week left to fix it.
For the same reason I guess maintance is one day later here in Europe because if something goes wrong, it should go wrong first in a place close to the guys who are responsible to fix it.

Breakfast Topic: How are your characters coping with moral dilemmas in game? {WoW}

Mar 14th 2011 9:25AM Hey, what about the out-of-Alliance-control Airship down in Deepholm?

Totem Talk: How to manage your elemental totems {WoW}

Mar 13th 2011 7:40AM What I am interested in is, wether haste/aka Bloodlust/Heroism/Timewarp does effect the Fire Elemental?
Wethter it is practical to drop Sparky during the according effects?

I also played around with switching to my pre-flametounged Healing-Spellpower mainhand before dropping Sparky but never really got around to analyse the according damage increas or not. Any thought on that?

Know Your Lore: Current Horde politics -- the Forsaken, page 2 {WoW}

Apr 11th 2010 7:55AM Quote: "Thrall did little else but replace some of her guards in Undercity made me lose a lot of respect for him as a character."

Some guards? Taking into account that WOW's locations are, due to game mechanics, not up to scale, I think it is more fitting to describe them as freaking elite occupation army, stationed in the capital and all the all government offices. (stationing US Marines in Downing Street - becouse some renegaed British Army office in Iraq, how about that?)

For me it reads like: "this is the last chance we are giving you, because we are nice and think there is a slight chance not all of you tried to mess with us. Screw this on up and we simply push the button!"

Know Your Lore: Current Horde politics -- the Forsaken, page 2 {WoW}

Apr 11th 2010 7:42AM Pure game mechanic (thinks like having an additional "body" option instead of the usual cut, color, facial etc.) and probably simply the time and resources needed to actually make those different models (even if they may be variations of the exitings models for other races it might have taken quite a bit of time.

I also think I read something about every race beiing identifiable on spot even from afar to balance the game. Having an undead that could be mistaken for gnome e.g. is not what Bliz wanted.

Finally lorewise I think the excuse for only humans is, that despite the fact that there surely are undead trolls, orcs, elves etc., except for the elite of the Death Knights (the turned warriors) the majority (personal guess 90%) of the forsaken is made up of Lorderon former common folk. Farmers, craftsmen, merchants etc. So the chance of YOU being anything else is simply ignored.

Two Bosses Enter: Grand Champions gang up on Marwyn; Eadric faces Lich King {WoW}

Mar 31st 2010 7:50PM Just reinforcingt the Eadric arguments:

He's the paldin master of running away.

My first gues would be that he runs faster than the Lich King can summon the walls.

If thats not the case I would assume that in is frantic escape he might crash through the Ice Walls Loony Toons style.

If they are to thick: he's got a big, shiny, holy hammer. Something much better suited to take down a wall of unholy ice instead of the unholy bow and arrows of the Banshee queen (if Sylvanas is there she could take out the adds for a while)

If that all is not counting and must ideed take down all the mobs on his own it may actually hard, especially in the later parts where blinded mobs may not do him the favour to fall down at the side (I would allow them t). But...

If all else fails it is a tie because, hey, he is a palading: Bubble+Hearth-stone?

Two Bosses Enter: Tyrannus tyrannizes Krick and Ick; Falric faces Paletress {WoW}

Mar 19th 2010 12:43PM In Favour of Paletress:

Against many foes the Aura of Hopelessness is indeed a potent weapon.
But Paletress is the most renown confessor of the Argent Crusade.

If there is one person to know about, to have seen the horrors that lurk within the hearts it is her. That, in my opinion, is an ability, a strength, that can only be derived from knowing, confronting, and conquering the deepest fears and despairs within oneself.

In addition to her own inner strength there is probably no horror of the Scorge she has not heart about (and taking her method of actually summon those horrors she pretty much has seen it all).

So even despite her young age she should be very well versed and I would go as far as expecting her total imunity against the hopelessness.

Also in her favour: when we tried to best her, she was merly testing us, assessing if we were worthy to fight against the Scorge without us becoming undead within five minutes into a fight and turn onto our brothers and sisters in arms.

Here her goal is to actually defeat a great evil and/or redeem a fallen warrior. Who could stop her from summoing all of Fallrics nightmares instead of only one? (and who knows what other tricks she actually did not use on us)

Actually that, the nature of Fallrics nightmares, is the biggest question here. If his undead soul is indeed free of any concience or redemable parts, thus making it impossible for her to summon Fallrics deepest fears, I doubt she would have a chance.

But taking into account how much trouble even the Lich-King had to go through to simply trying to erase his own inner self, I strongly believe Paletress' abilitys are perfectly fittet to defeat Fallric. She probably would have a much harder time against mindless and/or constructed eneymes clashing against here simply with brute force.
