Feb 11th 2012 1:06PM I've actually gotten a satchel once before on my mage. It was only because I saw it announced in trade chat and everyone went into a frenzy on our server:
"ZOMG!!!11!! DPS CALL TO ARMS GOGOGOGOGOGOGO QUEUE NAO!!!!"
Feb 4th 2012 2:00PM I actually find that I come across enough embersilk every week to produce my weekly CDs simply by running dungeons.
Inscription however has got to be the one profession that feels more like a chore than any other. Gather (/buy) the herbs -> Mill herbs into pigments -> craft pigments into inks ->
trade the inks for whatever pre-cata inks you need -> buy the parchment you need -> then finally make the glyph.
Granted, it's not as long in practice as it reads, but it just seems like there are unnecessary steps in the process. Maybe all the glyphs use one kind of parchment (like the did with vials in alchemy) or somehow doing away with the milling part, allowing us to make inks directly from herbs.
Feb 3rd 2012 3:39AM Yay!! No more mass dispell bug! I thought I was going insane for a while on Zon'ozz. After trying for three waves to mass dispell the debuffs, I resorted to just dispelling individually... Btw, is that how all you other healers have to do it? Gross...
Jan 31st 2012 3:51AM And before anyone even starts with the "if it has spirit on it, it's healer loot" argument. There are NO leather or mail pieces with any +int +hit stats on them. Only spirit or other secondary stats on caster leather/mail pieces. Trinkets are a different story of course, their procs are more clearly defined as healer or dps. Rings are questionable, but usually a non issue with relative ease if access on them.
This is all coming from someone who heals on all 4 healing classes so don't get all up in arms.
Jan 31st 2012 3:36AM About the Elitest bullies: anyone else fell like you're getting "gated" from gear by this jerks? What I mean is that they come in with their heroic gear and still roll need on EVERY PIECE OF LOOT, whether just to troll everyone else or to vendor it, they are purposefully preventing under geared players from getting the loot they need. It feels like I've been running raid finder forever just for a trinket, only to have it ninja'd week after week in better geared players.
These same kind of personalities are the arena-geared PvPers who run non-rated BGs farming kills, effectively gating the opposite faction by limiting their honor gained.
There's really no way to know if these players are doing this just to keep players below them or not, but it really just doesn't seem fair; non-rated BGs and raid finder are supposed to bridge the gap between more casual content and more hardcore. But far too many players are stuck behind cause these fun suckers won't let them advance.
Jan 17th 2012 6:00PM There seems to be one encounter in DS that SEVERELY gimps our mastery though. Spine. Having to heal through Searing Plasma means we're not putting deep healing to any real use, as for the most part, players are staying nearly topped off.
Which is not to say we're the only class at a disadvantage to "healing" non-damage. Disc Priest's and Holy Paladin's extra absorbs do nothing when players aren't taking actual damage (except for MAYBE the small ticks the debuffs do every 10 secs).
There is a flip side to this debuff though. I've noticed immediately after Fiery Grasp or any other effect that brings a debuffed player to low health, we can make GREAT use of our mastery. As we're essentially healing the player at the same low percentage until the debuff falls.
Jan 17th 2012 12:30PM Why oh why does Blizz keep making escorts that are too fast to run with, but to slow to travel with while mounted? Even when I'm on my shaman I out run him. (he's probably at some weird speed like 125% run speed -_-)
Jan 16th 2012 8:17PM I think far too many people are neglecting the fact that Players in the Peroth'arn encounter have Illidan on their side providing a MASSIVE buff. No such help here for Baine. Try to take that, too, into account when making your decision.
Jan 12th 2012 5:25AM I, too, have an amendment I'd make. With regards to rule 4 mostly. DPS: your threat-wipes are to be used IN CONJUNCTION WITH running to the tank, NOT in exchange for. The worst thing thing you can do when a tank has no threat on the mob that's eating you is to fade(/invis/vanish/etc) and cause the healer that's been trying to keep you alive get one shotted.
Also, adding to what sentinel said: if an 'X' is marked in addition to the skull, this is typically supposed to be second to die. It amazes me how so often this is ignored (yellow goos tend to die first, even though shadow and cobalt are X and skull, respectively).
Dec 30th 2011 7:32PM "In addition, why is it that inscribers can take a current-level ink and trade it for antiquated varieties yet the same can't be done by other crafters?"
Because, aside from very few cases involving transmogged items, there is no constant need for craftable items before endgame. Glyphs, however, are in demand in every type.
ie: Scribes need lower inks to make lower glyphs (like http://www.wowhead.com/item=43414), but other crafters don't have the demand for lower level items.
