Apr 8th 2010 4:02PM I play on a PvE server because that's where my friends are. My only really memorable world pvp was from sneaking into Org at 11 am for my elders of the horde acchievement. I snuck in at midday hoping there wouldn't be too many people. I managed to aggro tons of guards on the way in and get knocked off my mount, but just kept running... I'm a shaman and was in my main spec, resto, so between my icc 10 mail, shield, and earth shield the guards weren't really hitting me. Ran in, got the elder and my acchiev, and just ran back out. There was one single person in the elders area--a tauren warrior. A prot warrior. He chased me down, trying so so hard to kill me.
Prot warrior vs healer is... painful and long and drawn out. I hexed him every once in a while for the lulz. I would run, get trapped by guards and heal myself, run some more, get trapped by guards... earthbind totem on cooldown, and then get dazed... I made it out of org and he and the guards chased me down the road for over five minutes. This poor guy just couldn't get me down for so, so long. I wasn't running out of mana or having any problems keeping myself up, till I slowed down to look behind me like a noob and he stunned me for just long enough. If only I hadn't let earth shield fall off.. /cry
Apr 7th 2010 11:49PM I firmly believe that someone with healing spells should have their preferred healing addon open. I do on all my characters, including the pally I'm lvling as tank (a click-heal addon makes Righteous Defense SUPER easy to use! who knew!) Its how I keep track of whether my healer is getting their face ripped off while tanking. It's also useful so on my shaman main if the healer goes down I can go back to doing my usual role, healing. I will not let the tank die until I myself am dead or OOM or going down kicking and screaming
Apr 1st 2010 8:22PM And the april fools isn't even funny. They're just retarded posts trying really, really hard to be funny.
It's making me REALLY tempted to take wow.com off of my feed reader just so i stop getting updates about omg farmville guys lolololololol
Mar 26th 2010 3:28PM It helps to be aware of players' particular abilities and class/spec strengths. For example, if our rogue and warlock are both going down I'm healing the rogue first because or affl lock has tons of self healing. On a recent Festergut kill, she did 43% of the healing on herself from siphon life and fel armor--and another 9% of the healing she received came "from festergut" from Haunt. Having your healing addon keep track of class helps with figuring out priority a lot!
A big part of the priority, though, is healing assignments. When the sh** is hitting the fan, i heal MY tank, and count on our druid to take care of any raid member who may be close to death. That's the main reason we have healing assignments--so that we each know "If xxxx is close to death, i ignore everyone else for them" and we can count on eachother to cover everyone when everyone is going down.
Mar 23rd 2010 3:20PM I always enjoy Lodur's posts on WoM but his TT posts always seem a little over-obsessed with glpyh of water mastery. It's an extra 30 mp5. Compared to the extra healing from the glyph of LHW, 30 mp5 is not that useful. For one, LHW glyph will save you tons of mana just from being comfortable with using the more mana efficient little heal instead of a big bomb.
And the more shamans you have, the better it is! Because it boosts LHW on anyone with AN EARTH SHIELD, not just YOUR earth shield. So it's great even for raid healing.
Also, please stop forgetting to mention TW. When I was a n00b shaman I didn't really grasp tidal waves and how amazing it is. Every shaman should keep that thing rolling. My power auras shows me a wavy blue circle when I'm in combat w/o TW up, and a yellow exclamation mark when RT is available to proc it
