Breakfast Topic: Has playing WoW changed your life? {WoW}

Oct 15th 2010 1:26AM Wow has been and continues to be a creative outlet for me.

At uni I'm studying finance- which doesn't leave alot of room for the imagination. When i started playing wow I didn't know what roleplay was. One year later I belong to a heavy rping guild and have fallen head-over-heels with all the story lines, the lore and the mental/creative challenge that RP brings!

Apr 5th 2010 2:22AM Hey Omed, you're such a lucky little RPer to have found that, can be quite rare. Keep up the good work :D

Apr 4th 2010 7:56PM I read your livejournal post and was wondering what server you play on? Servers can make a big difference to your RP. Moon guard for example is plentiful in RP.. sometimes not as lore strict as it should be but it's still there. RP-PVP servers are generally the type who only have light RP if at all and PVP is almost always the more pressing focus. But all servers are different.

YES i agree with you that "roleplay "en masse" almost always fails." there are just too many characters and storylines too keep up with. This is why GL is such hell.

My dream for RP would be to with a mature group of around five or six quality RPers who have similar ideas and thoughts on RP who all a diverse group of characters (perhaps every race from a faction?) and who are all avid dungeoners (partly coz that's one of my fav ways to lvl and Rping dungeons is fun!) and who want to level up together. Just sayin'

Apr 4th 2010 6:14PM Mages have tended to be the easiest to kill in battlegrounds. Their armour is equal to that of a priest only they dont have the advantage of being able to heal themselves (in combat). Catch a mage by surprise and they'll definately be going down.. and quickly.

Im not trying to be a mole im just telling it like it is. If any class needs to lift their game it's mages. Sowwy!

Apr 4th 2010 5:34PM Yeah rkaliski, just imagine how much the next expansion is going to stir up the nelves! The land they've known and loved for thousands of years has just been torn up infront of them.

They. Are. Going. To. Freak!

Apr 4th 2010 5:29PM It really can be a hit and miss Vanz.. Your best bet is to find a good guild to RP in and who will also RP outSIDE of GL and if you're lucky they might even organise RP events.. But there is always a famine before there's a feast. Keep at it :)

Apr 4th 2010 5:08PM I've been RPing for over a year now and I've found RP has added another layer to the game that has given depth to the occassionally mindless hacking and sawing everyone does... It HAS been incredibly rewarding and i love it :D Coz if you don't have a story; what are you?

Column was great, always good to refresh on the basics! Bit of a note i could add tho would be to remind players when RPing to always, ALWAYS keep a distance between yourself as a player and your character in-game. Too many times i have seen players take insults to their characters personally.
This type of behaviour is a RP murderer and will save you much grief if you keep it in mind. Inevitably your character will be insulted, just remember it's the character they're insulting not the player behind the character ;)

You must have had 'detect lesser invisibility' buff. The ghosts in the courtyard of Undercity are the dead civilians of Lordaron. They only show up when you have the buff on. Also.. if you turn up your volume when you enter the kings chamber you can hear the whispers of the royal court which is just a verbal replay of the cinematic from Warcraft III where the prophet tries to warn the Alliance.

Apr 3rd 2010 3:49AM Worgens get druids.. I guess they're halfway to shamans.. Goblin shaman doesnt make much sense lore-wise but they could have learnt from their new found orcish friends. While im on the topic, nelf mages make no sense at all.. I think some of the class expansions coming in Cat are really just blizz adherring to what the player community wants and whoever has QQ'd the loudest has got what they wanted.

I was under the impression that paladins could only be created if they served a king or queen, the taurens serve a cheiftan, is it the same? And i really just dont understand nelf mages at all, not one bit, but im willing to look past some of the not-so-in-line-with-lore classes because of the two new races who'll get druids. Quite heppy (^.^)
