Know Your Lore: Never to rise again {WoW}

Apr 4th 2012 2:18PM To this day the Lich King lore is still the very best that has come from Blizzard.

Apr 4th 2012 10:36AM "mid-expansion"???

Mid expansion was Tarecgosa mate, and i didn't see all them mages and warlocks complaining when they had the upper hand in PvP.

So why cry about rogues finally getting a much diserved legendary? In a couple of months, when the xpack is out and we're no longer wielding them, you'll be crying about how OP the new rogue skills are.

Seriously, if you can't deal with defeat, roll a rogue and bask in the joys of victory!

Apr 4th 2012 10:32AM "Yes, my fellow Deathstalkers, it is time we feast on the corpses of our enemies!!"

Rogues offer a unique PvP perspective, regardless of wielding legendaries or not. One of my favorite ET articles was the one that explained the very best ways of ganking in the Molten Front, some months ago. Rolling a rogue and not engaging into PvP content is a waste of time and frankly if you're one of those PvE only rogues you should delete your account this very moment because you're missing out on the real action.

Don't get me wrong, i do love PvE content with my hazardous belle, and despite not being in the raiding race (first stage of the legendaries is as far as i'll go, and hey, it's pretty good!), now and then i'll run some dungeons or LFG and marvel on the tightness of a well executed Mutilate rotation.

But PvP is where this class really shines. Naysayers will of course shout "It takes no skill" or "Rouges are so OP". While the second may have some true to it, the first is false. Rogues are the least changed class since vanilla, and there's a reason for that: you don't change a class whose resource system is perfectly balanced. It takes a great deal of roguecraft to proper play one. It's math even. Particularly in a PvP environment when there's no telling what will happen next, your senses have to be heightened to the max if you're going to succeed in this assassination path.

I have two rogues, one at max level and a fully decked out lvl 19 twink. Both Horde, both sub pvp. The top level one is parked in Stormwind for an obvious reason. There's no greater joy then killing enemies in the safety of their town. Casually reading the mail while accidentally flagged for PvP? A fatal mistake you won't repeat. The officers and guards add an element of difficulty and excitement to your kills, and frankly, no tears taste better then those of an ally enraged enough to log his horde character to insult you. Exquisite, i tell you.

My lvl 19 twink if fully decked in the very best twink gear/enchants. There's no upgrading this char, she's as good as she could possibly be at her level (Gurubashi arena grand master trinket included, and it wasn't easy). She got the Wrecking Ball achievement by a laaaarge margin, something like 48 kills and not a single death. Needless to say, low level pvp with a rogue is simply delightful. I vividly reccomend slapping some leather looms, rolling a new rogue and steamrolling your opponents in the lower brackets. It's an unique experience.

PvP twinking for dummies {WoW}

Mar 29th 2012 6:14AM I recently made my first proper twink. Went with a rogue and spent no expenses to get her proper gear/enchanted.

It is great fun to join a battleground full of mostly people dedicated to maximizing their characters to the max, rather then the usual slackers of regular BG's. People who twink usually have an idea of what's going on and a good understanding of their class.

Check her out, she's quite deadly >=)

Blue Posts: Where'd your name come from? {WoW}

Mar 6th 2012 10:11AM Most of my character's names are from Filipe Faria's "Chronicles of Allarya", wich is a portuguese fantasy book collection.

Othragon, Nekkr, Slayra, Hazabel, and Garogar.

There's also a little homage to the Silmarillion, in the form of my druid, Eöl ;)

5 not-so-simple ways Blizzard can fix the World of Warcraft Auction House {WoW}

Feb 22nd 2012 8:35PM Consolidate lower population realms: Can't agree enough with this. Merge a good couple of servers, there's no need for so many servers if they're gonna be empty.

As for a global AH, no way in hell. It's already a nightmare to scroll among auctions if your realm is overpopulated and there's a ton of hardcore and wannabe auctioneers.

3 things Battlegrounds should borrow from SW:TOR's Warzones {WoW}

Feb 22nd 2012 8:32PM To be honest, stating that WoW could learn from TOR when it was TOR that learned from WoW in the first place, and WoW from EQ and so on, is pretty ridiculous.

Every single game out there is learning from another, the elements of originality will always be copied and modified and improved as the years pass.
