5 reasons you should love Mists of Pandaria {WoW}

Oct 24th 2011 2:13PM What Anne is trying to tell us is that she thinks the character models are going to have to be updated because those babies are going to roll if they're monks for starters.

Breakfast Topic: Which part of "Mists of Pandaria" has you most excited? {WoW}

Oct 22nd 2011 9:22AM Honestly I don't give a monkey about Panda's. I neither wanted or didn't want them. I'm surprised that the trademarking actually was the expansion name but I'm pleased that they managed to block their leaks this time so I managed to take in all the details of the new expansion at one time without going through the rumour mill for months previous.

The expansion itself suggests all win to me. Everyone expected 5 levels so that was no surprise but the new Monk class sounds like it will be a blast to play so I'm definitely stoked for that. Pet combat will probably grow on me once I have a crack at it and the other stuff is all filler.

I reckon it'll come out around mid-year as opposed to a xmas thing because I don't think Blizzard can get any closer than an 18 month turn-around on an expansion as well as content updates of the current expansion as well despite what they want to do. I'd be interested to see if they up the leveling experience to 15 levels for 90-105 to fit in with the new talent system later on, however.

The zones - what we've seen of them - do look stunning and different so a lot of the game time is initially going to be spent walking around exploring. No flight until max level is also probably a good idea this time as it means you get to see more of it from ground level as Cata has been all about flying everywhere at max speed so probably a lot of detail gets missed.

Can't wait for new info to now start filtering through about professions changes and stuff like that. Blizzard always give us a lot of content in them so I'm wondering if we might get something new here too as another option to cooking/fishing like we did with Cata.

But mostly what i want most of all - and i strongly suspect i'm not going to be the only one - is another slot on my current server to stick a monk onto rather than having to roll it somewhere else. All my slots on bloodhoof are taken with one of each class and they're all going to be 85 by the time this goes live. I have no wish to delete one as i think playing every class makes me a much better player in end game raiding etc.

I am liking the new yearly sub option. Everything about that spells win if you're likely going to be around without a break until the next expansion like I now plan to. You get a new mount which is nice, a free copy of Diablo 3 when it comes out which is even better and finally access to the beta guaranteed which was the seller for me. I want to look at trying for a server first badge doing something this time and getting a look at the game before it goes live so i can try stuff out and see what I can realistically manage is going to help big time.

BTW little tip you guys that are also going to sub into the years package. Change your subscription type to a six month package before you do. You're signed in for a year anyway so you might as well just take the payments in 2 hits and save yourself a few quid by doing it in a larger chunk.

On a final note you guys being killjoys and moaning just cause it's got panda's in it. Really? It's an expansion - there will be something for everyone. Just get down with the general feeling and be happy for the guys who are completely stoked about this. Blizzard will come through winners yet again with this, I have no doubt.

Gold Capped: Shattering Maelstrom Crystals {WoW}

Oct 7th 2011 6:29PM Just because you don't find this informative. Some of us do. Ignore the troll, Basil, and keep doing what you're doing. You can keep your puppy, Fox, too :)

The Queue: Well, that explains everything {WoW}

Oct 4th 2011 1:09PM Question for the Queue. How come when Anne hosts the column there are always a lot more questions answered? Not that I'm biased or anything but, as it's my favorite section, it's always a better read when she does it.

About the Bloggers: Michael Gray {WoW}

Aug 31st 2011 1:00PM I love that picture. As a dog lover it always makes me smile when i see a good example of man and his best friend. Must.... resist.... urge.... to kidnap....... Lab.... :)

Scattered Shots: Hunter reforging priorities {WoW}

Aug 18th 2011 1:45PM I returned to my hunter recently that's been languishing at 82 for months and went this route after studying posts on elitist jerks and Hunters union and it's absolutely solid. My hunters pretty much as geared as I can get it outside of raiding as i've not had a chance to take her in yet but working the proper survival priority and capping hit while reforging out of mastery wherever possible has given me more than acceptable numbers. I'm crunching what I can do with my Mage and i've not really fine-tuned it yet or got the raiding epics to really boost it up.

Arcane Brilliance: Magery within the Firelands {WoW}

Jul 24th 2011 4:27AM Jeez what's with the negative comments. It's just a giggle and an amusing diversion for most of us. if you troll-hounds can't appreciate a little dig at your class then you need to lighten up. I'm sure the Mage columnist will get swift revenge for this as soon as he's able to. Here's to getting people to lighten up a bit.

P.S. that'll be 20 gold to port your alt to Oggy, dude!

Blood Pact: On armor spells and warlock survivability {WoW}

Jun 6th 2011 1:44PM A mage wouldn't be reading this column. There's too many big words.

Breakfast Topic: Are you an Azerothian prankster? {WoW}

Jun 3rd 2011 8:33AM Back in the days when Naxramas was all new we were being summoned there by our guild leader who was showing off his new mechano-hog. I jumped in for a ride and the sod took a ride out of the platform for the long fall into dragonblight. He died too as he was a dk with no slow fall but the whole group collapsed into fits of giggles on Ventrillo while I was hurling abuse at him.

My favourite trick now is in Blackwing descent where I stick levitate on people running to the lift after clearing Magmaw and Omnitron. Often they will float off into the lava or they will release the levitate and crash to the ground through the elevator. That little trick doesn't work too well on rogues with their Safe Fall however so the trick there is to position yourself on the edge of a ledge facing the lava and then turn your camera angle and watch for the rogue moving. If you time it right then you can Leap of Faith him straight to your position and he'll run straight off the edge and take a lava bath. This also works in Grim Batol.

Warning: They don't like this but my guild Mages will always pay me a bounty of 13 copper if I can get him like this :)

Choose My Adventure returns {WoW}

Mar 29th 2010 1:20PM Quote: (Really? You want them to announce to thousands of people exactly when and where they'll be leveling...on a PvP server? That's just asking for the next post to be, "I got ganked for 3 hours by 18 death knights with names that spell out Rick Astley lyrics. Screw this column idea.")

I nearly wet myself when i read that. Best giggle I've had in weeks. Thanks, man :)
