Feb 5th 2012 5:15PM I find it amusing when people say that certain things are "incredibly easy solutions" (often just because other games have done it).
Unfortunately, modifying a core piece of software to behave differently is often a lot more difficult than most people expect (trust me, as a professional software engineer, I run into this A LOT). It's a totally different story when it's designed that way from the get-go (which is usually the goal, but sometimes plans change).
Be kind to the Blizzard developers and remember that just because something is "incredibly easy" to think of, doesn't mean that it's incredibly easy to program, or even if it is relatively easy to program that it's anywhere close to easy to achieve based on the current state of the code, let alone any possible other ramifications it might create (e.g. Ret Paladins pulling 6-figure DPS because of a change to the proc system to fix Vengeance gains from Scatter Shot; it seems totally unrelated, but the underlying systems were related and changes cascaded into unexpected areas)
So unless you personally have seen and fully understand all of the code that creates the system you're talking about, don't refer to any change as easy (incredibly or otherwise).
Feb 5th 2012 5:02PM I'd much rather see the other paladins use Int and get attack power and dodge from int, extra armor from spirit, etc, than have some paladins wearing mail.
(I also was hoping the Monk would be Cloth / Int based with the same kind of stat conversions)
Feb 1st 2012 2:36PM Are there any places that list unofficial patch notes? i.e. any of those things (intended or not) that happen to slip past those putting together official patch notes.
Jan 23rd 2012 4:34PM I'd love to see Repair / Withdrawal amounts separated.
I'd also love to see the secondary professions added to the guild recipes tab. Especially since the cooking recipes require being bought with tokens, it'd be nice to know who already knows what when I need something made or when I'm considering what recipe to buy next.
Jan 16th 2012 11:57AM Blizzard addressed this earlier (I believe in an interview at Blizzcon).
And they've realized that very few people actually pay attention to silhouettes any more (especially with transmogrification now). When it really matters (PvP), everyone has nameplates turned on.
Jan 16th 2012 11:53AM In regards to the skill thing, I'd love to see a profession squish go along with the item level squish. At this point, groups of 50 instead of 75 would probably suffice for the time being.
That'd put current skill max at 350, and then in MoP, we'd either go to 425 or 400 (depending on if it was a static change or one they're thinking of like the ilvl squish that would squish each previous expansion, but allow for the inflation of the current one).
