Breakfast Topic: Have you ever been abandoned by your game friends? {WoW}

Jul 5th 2011 6:50AM I started because several RL friends and work mates where playing not long after Vanilla. They left around level 40 and I stuck around until late BC. I quit for a few months there and left my new guild who I considered friends.

I returned on Wrath release and stuck with another guild right until about Feb this year. I then abandoned them without so much as a goodbye. I just can't bring myself to log in to the game anymore. I don't know why I just lost total interest in the IP I think. Its strange because I was obsessed with WoW since it started and have played on Azeroth since Warcraft.

I recently installed on my mac and logged in, did a bg said hi to my guild (who has continued on with almost 30 new members) most of the originals have quit wow as well.

I see a massive trent of people leaving not for another game, not even because of Cata's changes just because they are over it.

I found a Kindle, I read now in my old WoW time. I don't miss it but I have at least got the interest to see what is going on with the world again. I read the odd blog and blizz site to see whats going on.

A new xpack might get my interest perhaps. Who knows. I think WoW is just dead to me and my guild with it.

Mar 26th 2011 8:20PM Being from New Zealand, then living in England now living in Australia I have heard about Twinkies several times on American shows and movies but never seen one.

Now I have I must say I am going to make it my life's mission to do so.. it looks amazing.

nothing to add on the wow related stuff.

Know Your Lore: Garona: A Study on Stealth and Treachery, part 1 {WoW}

Feb 21st 2011 6:37AM Wasn't ... World of Wh0recraft was it? That was the most disturbing thing I have ever seen..

Know Your Lore: Garona: A Study on Stealth and Treachery, part 1 {WoW}

Feb 21st 2011 6:35AM I was so obessed with Garona ever since I played Warcraft 1 in like 1994/5. I hated that her character just kind of dissapeared and when she didn't show up in WC3 or WoW I assumed she was doomed.

I was so pleased they brought her back and gave her a whole back story. I like her origins.

And for all the people still going on about Mary Sues in WoW.... Blizzard created the universe and the character Med'an can't be a damn mary sue because the game creators fit him in the same as anyone else.

The entire Alliance were mary sues in WC1 and 2 .. they only got stories and fleshed out in books etc later.

Rhonin I will give you....

The Queue: Ragequitter redux {WoW}

Feb 20th 2011 5:52AM I have a question.

I have been playing WoW uninterupted for over 5 years now and have logged in at least once or twice a week that entire time apart from a month in 2008 when I was on my honeymoon.

(I secretly logged in at an internet cafe when I went to get my new wife icecream so even that doesn't really count)

Anyway I have been as addicted as ever since Cata launched and had gotten back in to Arena and BGs for the first time in several years recently.

Then about 3 weeks ago I couldn't be bothered logging in one night... and have tried twice but I last no more than 2 - 3 mins. I haven't played at all in 3 weeks and I have actually no intention of doing so any time soon and I have no idea why.

My question is... Has my brain finally become immune to Blizzard after 15 something years of playing their games? Should I try log in to say SC2 to test it?

I am a tad concerned with D3 coming soon.. I might have to go to counseling

Know Your Lore Tinfoil Hat Edition: Mystery of the naaru {WoW}

Feb 14th 2011 5:45AM I have long expected they play a bigger part than what we saw in BC.

I guess it was when they added a Naaru in to Turyulon's story in Tides of Darkness. They didn't have to do that but yet they went to the effort. I have long thought he is now on a mission of the light for them and is their champion against the Legion.

I think we will be seeing a heck of lot of him and the Naaru once we go to the Legion worlds or face them again on Outland.

The Naaru could very well be the most important race in the universe... aside from my Troll Shaman.

"The Exalted" title requirement change reverted {WoW}

Feb 12th 2011 9:59AM I can't wait until Titan or whatever their next MMO is called comes out. I need to get on board with that and get away from all the whingers in WoW. I assume they will all stay in a product they obviously dislike to continue whinging like children.

"The Exalted" title requirement change reverted {WoW}

Feb 12th 2011 5:47AM I am sure I am going to get downvoted for that post as well, but I am not blaming anyone who put their case forward sensibly, but the people who didn't deserve their bans. I am however blaming Blizzard for not having a backbone.

"The Exalted" title requirement change reverted {WoW}

Feb 12th 2011 5:45AM I have just lost a ton of respect for Blizzard because of this change back.

I thought it was pretty lame not to warn people of the initial change, and although it didn't effect me personally (I didn't have 40 anyway) I could understand why people were annoyed.

However the reaction on the forums and elsewhere was a disgrace. Sure be annoyed, sure expect some form of apology for not warning you.. but at the end of the day the reasons Blizzard gave for the change both made sense. They should have explained why they couldn't give you the title ongoing if you had it but they have done so now.

All Blizzard had to do was post the above but change one thing.

We however are not changing our minds because this is where we want the achievement to go and although it may be frustrating to some players, and we apologize for not warning you beforehand, no amount of aggressive complaining is going to change our minds.' They then could have gone on to explain why they couldn't grandfather the change as they had and that should have been the end of it.

Did they put the drakes in they took out in Wrath because people moaned? No
Did they put back in the Zulian Tiger because people wanted to get it? No

Sure this was more extreme but, all it took was a sorry and an explanation.

Backing down like this now means they cannot make tough choices moving on. If they don't change something back in the future that people complain about they will just quote this and they are stuffed either way.

Poor call Blizzard, poor call.

Breakfast Topic: Should Blizzard take away earned titles and rewards? {WoW}

Feb 10th 2011 5:05PM I have no issues with this. It makes sense really.. your not really worthy of the title if its earned based on getting reps from Vanilla at 85.

I can see why someone who earned it before Cata would be annoyed but its not like that was a majority. I have seen 50% or more new ones since Cata. I agree it should have been taken away.
