Nov 18th 2011 8:27AM I really like archeology, I don't care if I get epics to do it or not. I think it has a fishing feel. Its an excuse to get out into the world and enjoy the changes that were made with cata. Really take in all that little stuff that gives the game life. Like a house in the middle of nowhere with some npc's just hanging out.
The best thing I got in archeology is the valkyr drinking horn. Or the one that turns you into amber.
I feels it's more about the experience than the end reward of a few epics that will be replaced in a patch. I wish there was more writes story on each item. Like when doing the well read achivment. Those books will tell you the story of Azeroth if you care to take the time to read them.
Nov 9th 2011 9:08AM You start out by calling getting PVP gear as a grind. Its only a grind if you dont enjoy it. Even with zero resil you can step into the arena with a good team and beat the other guys with cc and strategy. That's why they have different rating for teams.
I just started a warlock with zero resilience gear stepped into an area and after 24 games we had the weekly cap. Next week we will reset the team and keep going. There was a lot of learning but it was fun, and felt good to see us getting better working together.
Running battle grounds is really no different than running 5 man pugs these days. Your going to come across players with great gear and not so much. But you put in your time getting better at the encounters and you slowly get better gear.
I personally like that there are two aspects to the game PVP and PVE it gives a guy something to so on non raid days. PVP gear is very assessable you just need to put in the time, You dont even have to play well and you will still end up getting points 50% of the time. The odds are better than a raid. Because in a raid if you play bad you get no gear.
But its like anything the community wants there unicorn without and work. If you got your gear for free it takes out the accomplishment of getting the gear. PVP gear is available to everyone, just like everything in the game it you have time.
Nov 8th 2011 5:15PM Listen to what ? This game is almost 8 years old there is a certain amount of natural attrition.
"Don't feed the trolls!"
Nov 8th 2011 4:38AM I know hunters that are pulling awesome Dps in raids and doing quite well 2200+ rating on 3's teams. Maybe not the top dps and it might take more skill to get good rating. But the ablility to play a hunter at peak endgame isn't difficult, you put in the time and you can get there.
I'm sick of players saying there class is broken because it takes a lot of skill to play. It's the same deal with warlocks if you see the forums, 1/2 the people will tell you how broken they are and how much blizz hates them. As far as cata goes its probably some of the best balanced class system we have ever seen. That we are seeing 1/2 the people hate the classes and 1/2 the people love them tells me there right where they need to be. If everyone was happy with there hunters I would say there crazy over powered. Since its only 1/2 from what I have seen I would say there "fine"
I play a warlock, there is a huge skill cap to play one well in pvp. I will get facerolled by DK's and warriors, alot of the time I meet one. But I dont die everytime. Do I think warlocks need to be buffed so they can easily kill these classes no.
Because the game isn't balenced for 1 vs.1 and every class in the game has to have an anti class it's how the game works. It's not like hunters can't come on raids because there damage is to low. Right now in the game you can raid with any class with a dps spec and do fine. Maybe not any spec but there working on that.
Aug 29th 2011 8:49AM I like To add techno, DJ nate, It's normally the music at the end of the crendor videos. Makes everything your doing more epic. If it comes to mining or some BG grinds! But if I'm in a raid mumble is the only sound the music is off.
Aug 28th 2011 2:22PM Raid finder will have some good and bad situations, it will have bad players and good like anything else. But the majority or players who will use it will be casual. These players wont have the time and patience to grind through content. So my biggest fear is we will get more raids like VOA, BH and less like Lich king, and Sindy. Which are awesome designed fights that actully feel like you have acompleshed somthing when you finally down them. Puggable raids Will be nerffed raids, mark my words.
Aug 28th 2011 9:38AM Tyler, I agree. In a world where a random heroic is difficult because people like to stand in stuff and not cc. And be as racist as they like, and there are no repercussions. I predict that this raid finder is doomed to fail. Not because people don't want it, but because in a random group you can be the biggest douch and nothing will happen. We have players in our raid that need to be reminded not to stand in bad stuff and get on interrupts better. If I tell a guy in a random raid to get on his interrupt, he will A: tell me to piss off, B: not listen, C: leave raid. Or maybe if you get lucky do what you asked.
I forsee raid content being Made easier so it can become pugable, say hello to more voa, BH raids
Aug 25th 2011 11:28AM Your not the only one, they could have called it flaying or something better than they did.
Aug 25th 2011 8:31AM Having just leveled a warrior to 85 and now just having the gear to run a few ZG/ZA I'll tell you that the threat changes are the only thing keeping my groups alive. I have been tanking for the guild, and with everyone pulling 20k+ numbers, and my dps around 6k it's very nice to have the extra threat. Without the changes I don't think I could tank for the guild randoms. And that would just lead me back to my Mage.
