Apr 9th 2010 6:04PM I'm still fuzzy on Mind Spike. What would Mind Spike bring to the table that a Mind Blast without cd and Shadow Weaving not achieve? I could spam Mind Blast just as easy as Mind Spike. Is Mind Spike a mini nuke whereas Mind Blast a major nuke? I'm just curious of the niche of the spell.
Apr 8th 2010 8:16PM I'm confused about a new nuke. What is Mind Spike accomplishing that removing shadow weaving and removing the cooldown of mind blast no complete? It seems to me that mind blast (talented) has the same casting time, so is mind spike a mini nuke?
Apr 8th 2010 6:11PM I really enjoyed your article, but a few ideas/suggestions.
1. I liked your description of the new DoT mechanics. It would appear that if two DoTs were cast, then 1 spell would be 30 secs 5 ticks and the second 24 secs and 4 ticks. Seems like a lot of variability to me.
2. I like the fact that Demon's are summoned from the nether and come with a name, but once, I got an imp named Pizzmop. I deleted the toon and started over. What about a person/location/ceremony where you pay 10 gold (or need 3 people) to summon a new demon from the nether? It wouldn't happen often, but give people the opportunity to summon a name they like rather then a lewd act. Of course, demon name list would have to grow some....
3. I like your comments about CoE being the only curse with appeal, but i think with the new Bane option coming out, it might spice things up. A modified CoW would be nice.
4. Demons, we have a tank/shielder, ranged, pvp stunner, caster killer, and demo dps. how about a pet more suited to large pvp battles/ debuffer in large groups? Something like a carrion bird for a hunter.
Apr 7th 2010 8:30PM I am concerned about this portion of the blue comment,
" Haste will no longer act to reduce the DoT's duration, but rather to add additional ticks. When reapplying a DoT, you can no longer "clip" the final tick. Instead, this will just add duration to the spell, similar to how Everlasting Affliction currently works."
To me, that says that DoT ticks and damage for each tick will be variable upon haste/spell power of each player and how often they are re-applied. In a large pvp battle, would computers/internet connections be burdened by continually determining frequency, overall DoT length, and damage of each tick? Seems like a lot can change by each cast/recast.. especially when hitting several targets and trinket procs. Of course, the easy answer is no, it's an easy mathematical code that will determine damage. However, all the damage numbers seem fluid in this definition of DoT spam.
Apr 6th 2010 7:35PM Twinking is now Hierlooms. Nothing has changed, but the term twink is missing... If you don't see that then you are playing BGs.
Apr 5th 2010 8:56PM Did Blizzard kill battleground because every noobs jumps in with knowing how to play?
Now you have 12s, 22s, 32s, etc. signing on when they haven't even read what the objective of the BG is. I now consider twinks professional pvpers because it's the only BG where i can find people going after the flag in WSG instead of kills. BGs aren't that much fun anymore because you are waiting on AFKers and people who don't know that it's best not to sit on the flag to guard it. If I have to explain Defense to people each BG then it's not worth playing.
