Raid Rx: Priest thoughts and the 100k mana club {WoW}

Apr 3rd 2012 2:45PM The beginning of the article is a bit misleading.
Base mana should still be going up as you level. So we'll probably have around 200k mana at level 90.

The Care and Feeding of Warriors: Fury in Mists of Pandaria {WoW}

Mar 31st 2012 7:16PM "As far as I can tell, every weapon in the game going back to level 60 gear has seen some DPS increase. By the time you hit Cataclysm gear, the increase is double. In part, this is probably due to the change in many abilities like Bloodthirst so that they scale off of weapon damage instead of attack power and partially due to our losing our ranged weapon slot and the statistics that come with it."

Blues have stated the weapon damage adjustment was to help balance low level pvp. The change to Bloothirst is a simple scaling fix. As for ranged weapons, or stat sticks for Hunters, we we're supposed to recoup those missing stats on our weapons but that doesn't seem to be the case currently.

Scattered Shots: MoP hunter changes galore {WoW}

Mar 29th 2012 3:17PM It seems like people fearing the nerf bat don't understand the current state of the class. We have an very high skill cap in PvP and possibly the worst survivability of any class. I don't think a few stuns, snares, or self heals will make us op considering every other class is getting similar treatment.

Side note: Please stop mentioning minimum range. When you're the only class with such a limitation is ceases to be a balancing mechanic. It's a relic of early game design, period. Let's dance happily upon it's grave and not look back.

Blue Posts and Other WoW News: Blizzard considering changing the "Skyrim" Ultraxion trash, answers on raid nerfs {WoW}

Jan 19th 2012 3:22AM Agreed.

I can see why people were upset with the way Firelands was nerfed. Their plan for DS however, is completely reasonable. If you're complaining about a tiny nerf with a slow ramp-up, after the content has been out for months, you need to get out more.

Spiritual Guidance: The 10 best weapons for shadow priests in patch 4.3 {WoW}

Jan 18th 2012 8:00PM "incredibly hard-to-obtain"

You do realize the proliferation of the staff has caused major balanced issues in 4.3? I can't tell if you were being sarcastic.

Ready Check: What makes raiding fun? {WoW}

Jan 6th 2012 5:47PM I don't think it's so much the hard mode implementation of Ulduar but the general lack of inventiveness with every raid that followed it. Dragon Soul is a culmination of that. The DS hard modes are just so uninspired. It seems like every fight has a little tweak that differentiates it from it's normal mode counterpart. Other than that it's more damage and a higher dps requirement. It's hard to blame the designers. At this point it's difficult to reinvent things, particularly when you have what I assume to be an insanely tight deadline for the upcoming expansion.
I hope we see more inspired raid content for MoP. Using Kara and Ulduar as a springboard would be a good start.

The state of DPS in early Dragon Soul, page 2 {WoW}

Dec 29th 2011 4:19PM It's not the T13 bonus. Any cleave or AoE fight will certainly favor Arms.
I think this another example of what happens when spec stigma goes away. After the Fury nerf a lot of the better Warriors went Arms. It's been a solid, yet underrepresented spec for a while now. I'm not sure where it will end up with BiS gear but I don't think Fury has quite the superior scaling that some are claiming.

In contrast to Feral druids, Warriors are extremely good on Ultraxion as the passive damage provides essentially endless rage, particularly during the execute phase. This holds true across quite a few fights in DS. The same thing happened in ICC - when warriors don't have to manage rage their damage can get out of hand quick.

Blue Post and Other WoW News: In which Zarhym wants LFR to say "okie dokie" {WoW}

Dec 9th 2011 6:49AM They should have shelved the whole thing until MoP as opposed to releasing it in this state. They've gone from releasing things "when they're done" to "MoP will fix it". Personally I'd rather wait and have it done right. I know that's not popular opinion around here but it's a valid one.

Nov 28th 2011 12:59PM Yes, and that blue post indirectly stated it would be the 29th. Unless there's some unforeseen technical problem it will be released tomorrow. The fact that people are still debating is kind of humorous.

Nov 26th 2011 12:13AM No matter how intelligent, logical, or measured the rebuttal, you'll be down voted into obscurity. I guess this is proof of what I've known all along: WI's readership is mostly mouth breathing, dim-witted sheep, incapable of critical thought.
