Jun 22nd 2011 1:06PM I came up with Holy Blood Elf Paladin (started in BC) as the Blood Elves where my favorite race from WCIII: The Frozen Throne, and Arthas was my favorite hero to use. I change his appearance daily (at least), and his name is mine (I'm 100% Native American/American Indian and had a name in my Native tongue before I learned English and was given a English/white Man's name). And no, it's not Jason (>< that's my English name).
My Worgen Death Knight has white fur, with a flat top (its the closest I can find to a high and tight on the barber shop; I'm in the military), and his name means werewolf in Finnish (one of my favorite countries to visit). I didn't realize when I made him just how many Worgen Death Knights there be. I may race change him to a least used one, but so far I haven't.
Jun 21st 2011 10:50AM I've personally have given up on guilds. Since The Burning Crusade, I've been in 5 different guilds. Two of which ended over officer issues (the top players in guild breaking up over loot). Three of the five broke up while I was deployed (and still have no clue what happened).
While pugging a raid (either as a Holy/Disco Priest, or Holy Paladin) isn't always the best way to progress, I've noticed if you perform well, word travels.
I've been asked to apply to three guilds so far, and I've declined all three. I'm set to deploy in late Summer/early Fall, and I don't want repeat what I'm going through now.
Maybe I'm jaded and need to do a server transfer, but from where I'm sitting, the risk =/= reward.
Oh, I think that if a guild can view which guilds I've been with, then I should be able to see whose been with them. That would level things and see if it's worth joining. Example: did the guild down a boss, only to suffer a break-up a week later? And no, seeing a bunch of low levels (not level capped) leave won't deter me. I just want a snap shot over the past few months. Reason? I'm recruiting them, like they are recruiting me. Still haven't come across a guild that the members put the guild above themselves yet. So far it's been about me, not we.
Jun 18th 2011 10:45AM I server transferred, moved into a gated community, and got a restraining order. Even those things didn't help until I pressed charges, and went through with them.
Sad thing is I brought this up with my GM (just like X did), and I was brushed off and was told, and I quote "What guy DOESN'T want sexual advances from a woman?!? Unless of course you're [fill in whatever you want here]???".
It had now got to the point I were I had to defend my sexuality, and had to deal with my stalker saying things like "Well, you know this would end if you just _____ me.".
Needless to say I've been unguilded for some time now and to be quite honest, I doubt I'll join another. This will be the reason why I stopplaying: you need other people to see a major chunk of the game.
I'm already playing less as a result, compared to a year ago (and no, it has nothing to do with it being Cata),
In case you're curious what "I did" to warrant these advances: treated her just like every other female in the guild. No different at all. FYI: I'm in the military and we use female and male, not trying to be sexist or anything.
Jun 16th 2011 11:09AM I wouldn't mind Blizzard introducing something from our world, into Azeroth/Northrend/Outlands as long as the devs put their own unique spin on it.
As a extreme casual player (I play more than 5 hours in a week, I'm shocked), this gives me something to look forward too. If it wasn't for the little things like that (building my first mechano hog), I would've have stopped playing due to I wouldn't feel I'm getting my monies worth (you hit max level and look forward to raids, I hit max level and sit out to build stuff) based upon on how little I can play.
What I wouldn't do to be able to upgrade the black smith. Or a guard tower... A la Warcraft 3 style. Honestly, I'd kill ALL of the Alliance just to be able to do that... Only to kill ALL the Horde (have one of each).
I understand that would be difficult to implement in-game but that's the technology I'd love to have in-game.
Jun 14th 2011 10:40AM So the Mega Blocks figures look better than Lego's. That's fine. I'll give you that. Problem lies in that Lego has thought one step ahead: how many of us played with Lego and how many pieces have we lost??? The awesome thing is if you lose Thrall, generic Orc #5 gets promoted to Warchief as your new "Thrall". But hey, at least while you have the Mega Block version of Thrall he looks cool (and I am speaking to age group this aimed at, adults excluded :]; though, to be frank YOU know you'll play with them and you'll lose some....).
Jun 13th 2011 10:09AM Yes, every now and then gear comes along that perfectly meets fits your character. For me, that was the Merciless Gladiator's set (Arena Season in BC). The whole gear set (and shield and mace) fit how I imagined my Holy Blood Elf Paladin to look, and is probably the closest Blizzard has got, IMHO, to reminding me I feel in love with the race in Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne. Still carry it my bags so I can equip it prior to logging out, regardless of where my character sleeps for the night.
Jun 12th 2011 10:22AM Gear in DCUO is called styles. When you equip, you learn the style it's part of. As a result, you can be sporting the high end raiding gear (tier 2), or PvP gear (tier 2 as well), and not displaying it's look.
I mentioned that for one reason, and one reason alone: how cool would it be to be walking around displaying Arena Season 2 (Merciless set; BC), while actually wearing the current season???
Or rolling in Mid Summer's Festival clothes when you kill Deathwing (but actually having equipped the raid gear; don't raid so don't know what it is :]).
However, honestly, I think Blizzard hasn't because if they did, and weren't able to ad in a particular set or something, someone would feel left out, and would gripe. One of the things it'll be cool if they did, but probably won't... That's A LOT of gear (figure it would be a whole xpac in it's self just going off of all the item sets in the game 0_0).
Jun 12th 2011 3:57AM I'm lost here. What's with Mages versus Warlocks?!? As Holy Paladin, I hate you both equally. Between being sheeped like that macro or button is going out of style, to being feared in places I didn't know existed in Warsong Glutch... Enlighten me with your Arcane Brilliance what is the beef here? Or is it some inside cloth joke that is wasted upon my plated self. Oh and turning me into a turtle to turtle Warsong Glutch is so wrong on so many different levels I won't comment on it. :]~
Jun 10th 2011 11:00AM Some how this concerns me. I'm a major Star Wars fan boy. Always have been, always will be. The problem lies in video games from this story line, haven't quite delivered. Yes, Force Unleashed was good, but not when you compare to other games. As fans we have been wanting a game that goes toe to toe with is out now, and for once, a game to live up to the hype.
Far as WoW...
I currently play to play WoW and DCUO (as I'm a comic book nerd). What will drive me away from WoW won't be Ghostcrawler, nerfs, lack of content, or anything else Blizzard does to WoW. It will be in fact, the gamers who play the same game as me. Why? Imagine deploying at the tail end of The Burning Crusade. You return. You missed a whole xpac, and your guild is no more (for who knows why). You're now stuck with the dungeon finder for groups, and now most endure your WRATH (pun intended) for not ever having done Halls of Reflection.... So, yes. It'll be WoW's community of gamers that will make me decide enough is enough and not renew (as I won't cancel), as I'll have no problems paying for three MMO's: I like variety in games I play. MMO's included.
Jun 8th 2011 6:26PM This. A thousand times this. I deployed at the end of The Burning Crusade. At that point, everyone is looking to Wrath of the Lich King. I return and missed Wrath, and find myself in Cataclysm. I find my guild dissolved (having no clue why), and stuck with the dungeon finder. I am now wondering why I am putting up what I deal with in the dungeon finder. Still don't know why I'm treated like I have the plague for being gone for a whole expac, but whatever. Eventually, I'll grow tired of the fact that while the players gear in the dungeon finder maybe epic, their manners and how they treat others is lagging far behind.
