Might be useful to point out that the night elves came from the trolls (most likely drastically changed by the well of eternity or perhaps Elune). The trolls are one of the oldest native-to-Azeroth races known to us.
Also, I wouldn't say that the night elves "ruled Azeroth". They simply made a point of separating themselves from the rest of the world, and happened to crowd their society near a GIANT FLOWING POOL OF PURE ENERGY!!! Lol. Seriously though. They had no sway over the Earthen, Tauren, Furbolgs, Trolls, Dragons, Vykrul, Goblins or any other races that existed on Azeroth at that point in time.
Mar 27th 2011 12:44PM I learned what I know about keybinds from this post: http://wow.joystiq.com/2011/02/22/blood-sport-a-guide-to-pvp-keybinding/#continued
Mar 27th 2011 12:42PM I can't imagine it would. I mean...you don't see much on this site about diablo or starcraft. Perhaps a few announcements, and a review or two, but not much after that, I'd assume.
Mar 20th 2011 4:19PM Starting with a guild healer is a good idea. Maybe even a full guild group just until you feel confident.
Another good idea is to go into instances you outgear slightly so you can focus on what you're doing a bit more. For example, try out Throne of Tides on normal before trying to do Grim Batol, or any heroics.
Read up on boss fights. Know as much as possible before flinging yourself at a boss. Going with guildies who have experience will help with this, as well as simply paying attention while you're dpsing.
Don't bother rerolling another low level character to get a feel for it. It will be very different at level cap. Many abilities are absent at low levels, and talents that won't be in effect.
Have fun. Don't tank because you feel like you have to. No one wants a grumpy tank.
Once you get a feel for tanking, check out information online (WoWInsider is a good source) about what stats you need/should go for before jumping into heroics. I will prevent a lot of headaches if you understand the benefits and disadvantages of stacking mitigation vs stacking stamina vs keeping a decent balance.
Thank you for your interest in joining the ranks of the tanking community :) As a former dps I'm sure you've experienced the effects of tank shortage.
Mar 18th 2011 10:15PM This is me. I'm leaving this. It's a comment.
Mar 13th 2011 1:21PM And then for some stupid reason into a for legged horse thing with a shell head with flowing stupid facial hair and dolphin tail? This is the first time my starter has not been a part of my team, lol. Replaced him with Seismatoad. Water/Ground and covered in tumors! frick yeah!
Mar 9th 2011 1:52PM Is the guy in the worgen video Godfrey? I've always thought it was supposed to be him, but he has long hair in the video. He has short hair (or at least has it tucked into his hat) everywhere else.
Feb 19th 2011 9:13PM What good is Rockbiter? It almost seems like it's meant for tanking (dmg reduction, threat increase, plus unleash rockbite is a taunt) along with some of our other abilities (Shamanistic Rage dmg reduction and Frost Shock threat). Yet we obviously aren't meant to tank. As someone suggested above me, it doesn't seem like it would be beneficial in pvp either.
Feb 8th 2011 7:22PM also....WATER EFFECTS for our healing spells!
Feb 6th 2011 8:56PM Quoted from wowiki, if it offers any accuracy.
"As Archimonde attempted to drain the World Tree, Malfurion raised the Horn of Cenarius and called out to the ancestral guardians. Thousands of wisps rose from the surrounding forests and amassed around Archimonde, detonating in a massive explosion that destroyed the demon warlock and incinerated the forests around the World Tree; nature herself would not allow his defilement to occur. While the World Tree would eventually heal itself in time, Archimonde was gone from Azeroth forever."
