Why is Blizzard still OK with gender inequality in World of Warcraft? {WoW}

Apr 3rd 2012 4:49PM "Maybe instead, think of it as an inequality because male characters can't wear it and still look good."

Most (but not all) of my characters are male. I would honestly love it if I could get some chainmail underwear or something else equally risque for some of my plate-wearing men. There are some leather short shorts I've seen, but they're just kinda meh.

Of monks, mains, and the ability to change {WoW}

Apr 2nd 2012 6:45PM I've truly only changed mains once, when I went from a god-awful melee Holy paladin (yes my first character ever!) to a Death Knight, approximately 2 weeks after WotLK landed. Joellic (Icecrown-US) has been my main main ever since. He is the one I am working on the holiday meta achievement on, he has been my character to get to level cap first, he is the one I'll use when going for older raid achievements. He is my guy. He is me!

Joellic was also my first raiding character, but not my current raid main. That would be Calrus (same server), because I wanted to try out a max level ranged class, the stars aligned where a sister guild of WHU (Wyrmfoe)'s second 10m raid team needed a ranged DPS, I stepped up and was invited to stay on full time after about a month of raiding when the spriest wanted to take a break from WoW.

Now I also have a main Horde toon (Cazbek, same server still), but that was mainly to try out max level tanking, and specifically druid tanking. Even with all of that, Joellic is still my main main. Due to my raiding committments, I will take Calrus to 90 first, but will attempt Joellic ASAP, and he will certainly be the next 90 after Calrus.

Another 100,000 Mists of Pandaria beta invites arriving tonight {WoW}

Mar 31st 2012 8:34AM I honestly don't think it's conspiracy theorist at all, Shrike! Someone earlier also said they are willing to do such large numbers to quell those that wouldn't stop complaining, so instead of doing it in the process they wanted, they'll let everyone in.

Where stuff won't be fun, so those that truly don't want to test will go away. I'm hopeful they'll go away sooner rather than later, as I had fun doing beta testing in Cataclysm! I was hoping I'd get in sooner (still no invite) as I was in one of the (if not the) first waves of Cata invites.

But if reports of overcrowding and lag are to true, then I'm happy to wait for them to leave. :-)

The Lawbringer: The warlock green fire class action lawsuit {WoW}

Mar 30th 2012 4:19PM I think my favourite part was the description of "fun". XD

Breakfast Topic: I don't like the word 'toon' {WoW}

Mar 30th 2012 4:14PM Hmmm I actually had to think about this one. I don't normally refer to my characters as toons myself, but I am not particularly adverse to the description. I have probably referred to them as such from time-to-time, but I do not frequently, I don't believe. I'll keep an eye out for the future!

Breakfast Topic: I don't like the word 'toon' {WoW}

Mar 30th 2012 4:12PM What I especially dislike when that happens, is they are using it as a badge of pride. Such as using the accented characters (which they said was going away, RAWR!) to spell out "huntard" as their character name.

I feel like slapping them and saying, do you really want to be referred to as a huntard? That's not a good word to be described by, and it's certainly not "taking back the word" since it was never a term of endearment or nicety.

100,000 beta invites on their way for Annual Pass subscribers {WoW}

Mar 30th 2012 4:06PM @Katherine -

...wut? They did get wind of it. When everyone else did, by the posting of a blue on the forums. If there is something leakable given to them by Blizzard but Blizzard doesn't want them to leak it, they won't. Plain and simple.

(I'm assuming you're upset that WI "had to have known" when the next round was coming out and they should have told you when that was. If I'm wrong, I apologize, but that's kinda what your statement sounds like, to me at least.)

100,000 beta invites on their way for Annual Pass subscribers {WoW}

Mar 30th 2012 3:10AM Besides, if you're only wish for beta access is to preview stuff early... you will be sorely frustrated and upset.

Beta is not early access. Beta is for finding stuff that is broken and reporting it. I enjoyed doing that when I was invited for the first wave of Cataclysm, and I will most likely enjoy it whenever I get access to Mists beta.

You should check out the Beta 101 articles. They might help alleviate some concern you have. And just because you aren't in the beta yet doesn't mean you won't ever. And just because you have an old account doesn't mean it's the oldest. Calm down, you'll get in, I promise!

The Queue: Thank the ancestors {WoW}

Mar 25th 2012 8:06PM "First, when did the shift happen to where we see (mostly) our own DOTs on a boss"

Not 100% sure when it started, but it's a setting you can change in Interface, I believe. I think it was a few patches ago, though.

Does the Annual Pass guarantee instant beta access? {WoW}

Mar 23rd 2012 12:36PM That's the thing, though... They've always done beta invites in waves. And they *did* say this time that we don't know when you'll.get in, but it will be done in waves as quickly as possible. They did let us know!
