Oct 30th 2011 11:46PM I for one am enjoying the direction they are taking with the druid.
Our talent pushes us to switch form often during a fight! We're becoming the shapeshifting class that I wanted to play when I first heard of WoW!
Switch to bear for a Bear Hug!
Switch back to "human" to send a buffed-up Tranquility (please don't make this spell Resto Only)
Remove a nasty debuff by using Displacer Beast and get back in the fight by charging!
I can live without the feline speed boost, we'll probably still have the boot enchant giving a speed boost.
Displacer beast is the weird love-child of Blink and Vanish, and I will cuddle it and tell it bedtime stories.
The Treants is what interests me the most. How will the spell act for Ferals and Guardians?! I can't wait to hear more about that
Jul 5th 2011 12:19PM I'm sorry but that's just not accurate. The stomp cannot be mitigated by jumping or levitating. Perhaps you were lucky and managed to resist a few; I myself saw a few resisted because of fire resistance and the Tol barad Trinket.
My source? I went to seek confirmation through Wowhead, tankspot, wowpedia and the in-game's Journal where it is not mentioned anywhere that you can jump to ignore the damage.
looking through world of logs of my last fight with him, you'll see Ryolith cast the spell 85 times and all 10 players got hit 85 times from it. Considering statistical fluke, at least one person would have managed to not get hit by it (we have jumping healing druids and I attempted to jump to mitigate the damage here and there)
To be sure, I went to see our sister guild on the horde side and they show identical behavior from the spell.
There are my sources. The spell cannot be mitigated by jumping.
Mar 3rd 2011 4:16PM the lead systems designer of Rift promised me three pony, but still hasn't given me one. What's up with that?
Feb 7th 2011 3:18PM Replying to NecroSen"
3. A tank has no reason to roll for a hunter bow (no quotes), but a hunter may have a reason to roll on a "tank" gun (quotes intended)."
Number of Str ranged weapon with an item level higher than 333 (i.e. a suitable weapon for a warrior wishing to raid) = Five (5)
2 of them are pvp thrown weapon, one requires 2200 arena rating
2 other are Trash drops from one raid and one heroic.
1 is currently bugged and will never drop because there is no heroic trash in heroic raids.
Number of Agi Ranged weapon with an item level higher than 333 = 20
4 made by engineers
1 from Tol Barad Vendor
Said Strength ranged weapons contains Dodge, Expertise, Parry and Mastery.
Expertise is not used by hunters, so this was itemized for melee classes who needs guns (i.e. Warriors)
Dodge and Parry are clearly identified as tanking stats.
These 3 strength ranged weapon all contains one useless stat for Hunters and contains Strength which is much more inferior to Agility for Hunters.
From this, we can surmise that these three (3) ranged weapons were itemized for Warriors, who needs Strength and expertise for DPS, Parry and dodge for Tanking.
So be a dear, and click on "pass" when a warrior clicked "need" on his Warrior Gun.
Feb 7th 2011 1:02PM All thing said and done, it is Communication that is the key element to any successful pull.
I've read some comments about how tanks should just let you pull a mob away so you can CC him some more (something about Distracting shots and Wyvern stings).
I would trust my raidmates, those I've levelled with since the beginning, to do something crafty to mitigate damage. But how am I, the tank, to know exactly what's in the mind of the Unknown Hunter when he's doing that?
I cannot see what you are preparing to do, I see a mob going towards those I'm supposed to protect and I react accordingly.
In PuGs, everyone is a stranger and no one knows the nifty tricks people developed to aid Crowd Control.
Communication, use it.
At the entrance, announce your intention to the Tank, tell him to not worry about mobs marked for CC if they break free. Do that and I won't throw my shield or charge at it when it rushes towards you.
As for Growl issues, bah if a pet manages to steal aggro from me it's a clear sign for me I'm not in defensive stance or just not tanking in Bear form!
Having said that, it can be problematic for those caster pulls. I've just managed to silence the caster and he's walking towards the group, and that Dog charges like nobody's business and aggros the mob. That irks me, because I needed that mob to be in melee range.
Tl;Dr = Talk to us and don't send your pet on casters.
Feb 6th 2011 12:17AM Aye Grounding Totem is great for Arcanotron, but to be able to soak the damage you need the target to be a) in your party and b) in range of your totem.
I've always asked my raid leader to put me in the healer group, because they will almost always be near Arcanotron so they can step in his arcane puddle and so always in totem range.
After checking the logs, I saw that my totem managed to soak more than 60% of the spells that were uninterrupted.
Definitely a huge help.
Nov 23rd 2010 3:01PM Two Questions for the Queue,
Concerning Inscription Inks.
Will Jessica Sellers, our esteemed and well established Ink trader, move from Dalaran and will she offer to trade old inks with the new Blackfallow Ink we will be creating?
I would rather avoid parking some poor discarded alt in Dalaran just to keep trading with her, considering the portals will all have vanished.
