Addon Spotlight: Raiding essentials for tanks {WoW}

Sep 30th 2011 1:03AM I would like to mention a threat addon that almost no one knows about, and I personaly think is better than omen. Diamondthreatmeter is my prefered meter because it allows more info than just threat values for a single target, and has a few other functions including a jumbo sized bar when your threat gets above a certain percentage that you can place anywhere on your screen.

I also personaly love tidy plates/threat plates for any toon I use.

Breakfast Topic: A week with new threat {WoW}

Aug 26th 2011 10:54AM when I dps, it's MUCH easier to rip mobs a new one without worrying, but now I have more moments of face-palming when the tank doesn't know whatbutton does
aoe damage.
Being an experienced tank....it's half and half. I don't feel pride for being able to hold threat against monster dps, and it's so bad to the point where I start talking with people and looking at a website while tanking, it's just too boring. The good part is obviously less dead dps, and more specialization on survival and not hitting every last ability I have just because I HAVE TO.
Honestly I think tanking is too far messed up to follow what it has for years. Sure, leave the threat the way it is, just change how tanks survive so it's more reactive and preventive, and not just "I'm good at simulators." It's the whole reason I love DK tanking.

Breakfast Topic: What's the one class you just can't stand? {WoW}

May 21st 2011 2:54AM you say you never got past the first few quests for dk's? well of course you're going to feel like the rotation is only faceroll (literally), until you reach max level. I think dk's are the best challenge and it's rewarding to be known that you're a good dk
as for the class that I dont like the most, it's paladin. even if i was to be a tauren, i dont like the idea of asking for help from a god you worship, or just the basic idea of using holy powers. I grew up as a warrior where all you had was yourself to rely on.
Im not a fan of any pet class either.

Lichborne: More blood tanking questions answered {WoW}

Apr 13th 2011 3:33AM I agree that an Agi weapon with mastery and a second stat reforged to avoidance seems to be the best idea until akirus. as for the whole arguement on threat...really, i dont think im worried about threat in the slightest. single target or aoe, i still am double on the threat meter what any dps has, and no I dont run with poor dps. the only thing that will cause me to even remotely have an issue with threat is when they take out the threat from death strike. when that happens I will just be using my blood boil a bit more.
also you should have mentioned tracking your Blood shield very closely with addons like Blood Shield Tracker to make sure that you are stacking blood shields to the fullest without letting the buff fall off. you'd be surprised how easy it is to let a 50k bubble drop if you dont watch it.
I also like taking Improved Blood Boil talent because it makes dungeons and trash pulls easy, and it gives a source of free runic power to keep your RP bar full for big death strikes. if anything i have excess resources more than starving.
as for those saying tanks only take damage and hold aggro, dont forget that even if your dps are geared to the teeth, you can bring thousands of additional dps that otherwise would be unobtainable. i've had many times when swapping a tank for add duty made the difference for a fight because the tank did more aoe dps, also allowing the dps to aoe harder without worry of pulling threat and dying.
I do like the idea of lichbourne though. unfortunately my current glyph build does not allow me to reach it, especially how it would mean getting Icy Reach, not worth it IMO.

Lichborne: Blood Death Knight Tanking 101 {WoW}

Mar 31st 2011 6:21AM fact, rune strike is not our hardest hitting ability. death strike is with glyph of death strike, assuming you're at 100 RP. add to it the T11 2 piece set bonus and you're talking about a 60k crit death strike or higher. because of that i spec into runic power mastery and only hit rune strike between 120-130 RP. any other time i hit death strike as top priority, and i still get enough threat for no one to ever pull from me
