Patch 4.3: The games of Darkmoon Island {WoW}

Nov 10th 2011 4:52PM A tip that should be in the Human Cannonball section:

The gnome fishing by where you land will port you back to the cannon. If you landed close, he will do it for free! Otherwise like 30s or something. The "nice shot" buff expires, so swim over to him fast.

The Light and How to Swing It: Secondary stat discussion for the discerning ret paladin {WoW}

Nov 9th 2011 9:59PM What's the value of mastery as opposed to strength? For instance is 10 strength worth 100 mastery? I know strength is by far the better stat but by how much?

I have a gear choice that requires me to choose between 15 strength and 110 mastery. Seems like strength but it made me wonder.

So is it possible to make some kind of rough equation, or are there variables I don't understand?

Nov 6th 2011 12:16PM No Point Stockpiling on live, I mean to say.

Nov 6th 2011 12:14PM The Darkmoon Faire is amazing! Wondering if anyone maxed out their tickets last night (I didnt, got too late.) Curious about max tickets per week.

The mounts cost 180, pets 90. So how many faires to collect them all?

Yes I know PTR, numbers may change.

Btw old tickets turn to vendor trash, so point stockpiling on live.

Arcane Brilliance: Adventures with and observations on the Raid Finder {WoW}

Nov 5th 2011 11:46PM Yes, I have killed bosses on the LFR.

It's not easy, it takes patience. A totally different kind of patience than raiding a hard boss. Patience like it takes to finish the damn troll heroic when no one will stand in the chains.

It's not easy to admit to ourselves how many twelve years olds, thimbleheads, neo-facists and clowns play this games that we love. The raid finder makes them unavoidable.

But it's worth it. You have to blow off a lot of chaff, but eventually a group will form that can donte job. For me, the first boss took 90 min and maybe six wipes from actual attempts. Others less, once the group was together. Spine of deathwing, which has truly simple mechanics, proved too much for 3 hours worth of different groups last night.

This is going to be much better on live, but the vote kick system needs the suggested changes.

Chris Metzen discusses the role of the writer at GDC Online {WoW}

Oct 10th 2011 11:31PM Interesting that the idea of killing an important story character's comes up, and that Martens is so adamant that you should never waste an important death. And yet in Cata, we had two faction leaders die (tauren and dwarf) totally offscreen and to no dramatic gain.

For me, wow is a videogame. If the story isn't happening in the game, it isn't happening. I think relegating so much of the story to the books is a bad idea.

Officers' Quarters: Patch 4.3 -- An officer's perspective {WoW}

Oct 10th 2011 2:59PM Also, LFR tier pieces, while lower level than reg, will activate set bonuses, and mix with reg pieces. 8 more chances to get a set piece a week!

The Queue: Late '90s nostalgia trip {WoW}

Oct 8th 2011 12:07PM I like hour of twilight for the fights and the trash. The trash is challenging and fun but brief, the boss fights are interesting without being too difficult to understand for a PUG.

The art direction in the zone needs work. More junk, more war, more sense of impending doom.

At least Thrall drops that nice totem for us. Way over there, away from the fight...

Addon Spotlight: Transmogrification made easy with MogIt {WoW}

Sep 22nd 2011 4:18PM OK, just spent 20 min playing with MogIt. Instead of, say, working. So thanks for that.

Is there a way to output an entire outfit to the wishlist? Because that would be good.

Really fun add-on, total time suck.

Sep 18th 2011 12:20AM Not a new raid tier, a new level of difficulty for all raid tiers. Sorry to be unclear.
