I schedule in-game activities, I min-max my characters, I do research outside the game. BUT, I play irregularly, play with my friends, and I do whatever takes my fancy rather than whatever will provide most efficient rewards.
What does that make ME?

You're right. I can trade my PVE points to get PVP gear. I stand corrected.
Unfortunately, my point still stands. WHY should I PVP? Will I change the story? Is killing Drek'Thar going to actually change the status of the war in Alterac? Will capturing WSG for the eleventy-billionth time make the elves stop taking it back 27 seconds after we take it?
How many times must I kill Velen to make him stay dead? PVP has absolutely NO effect on the game world. IF it did I MIGHT take it for another spin. Maybe.
That and the community. Remember raiders wipe for hours on AI. Seeing yourself fail for 4 hrs straight is much harder IMHO.
Apr 3rd 2012 10:33AM How mature of you.
Let me give you another angle:
How do I as a PVE tank get into the position of FC in a BG without Resilience gear?
Answer: I don't. I HAVE TO DPS farm my way through the BGs to get that gear. Sorry, DPS is anathema to my enjoyment of the game.
Don't pigeonhole people when you do not have all the facts.
Apr 3rd 2012 9:21AM And to get to that point, I would have to endure a month or so of feeling like I'm wearing a paper mache bikini while I get gunned down in 3 secs. I would essentially be FORCED to DPS a BG until I farm up the gear. Honestly, I would rather run a railroad spike through my knees than DPS anything ever again. At least I can tank Heroics to gear up to tank Raids.
Apr 3rd 2012 9:03AM Coming from someone who has played since Vanilla. I hate PVP.
I only play for 3 reasons:
1. Story and lore.
PVP has no evolving storyline. Why are the BElves still attacking the Draenei ruins? Didn't they make up after the Sunwell re-ignited? How many times does the Alliance/Horde have to kill the faction leader in order to make it stick? Exactly, no story = meaningless.
Pretty sure that most people who have played a random BG already know the answer to this. And god help you if you're new to PVP and show up in PVE gear and ask questions. It's a very toxic environment.
3. I LOATHE DPS.
I am a tank. Nothing makes me happier than staring down the gullet of some insanely large semi-godlike creature and taking it in the chin and surviving. In PVP? I get to run the flag... Where's the fun in that?

Dec 16th 2011 11:25AM I'll take it.
Nov 23rd 2011 2:08PM Lok'tar Ogar! For the Horde!
Oct 28th 2011 8:59AM Tank for life. I abhor DPS. It's quite possibly the most boring role in the game. My main is a DK tank. If I'm feeling saucy, I hop on my Shaman for some healing. Healing is fun. Just not as fun as taking it in the chin and healing myself back up.
DPS = BLAND.
