Oct 30th 2011 8:43AM I'd make most engineering items BoE and then just make an engineer class. Blizzard keeps complaining about how hard it is to balance engineers as a profession rather than a class anyway.
Apr 12th 2011 4:07AM Normally I'd agree with this, but here's the trick:
There's no challenge AT ALL anymore.
I rolled a priest a few days back. Well, I started playing the one I rolled the day Cata came out. She's level 50 now. Know how many times I've died? Go ahead, guess.
One of those times is because I accidentally ran off a cliff and forgot that I hadn't glyphed levitate yet.
Two of those times were because I decided that the quest where I have to collect the parts of the Lightforge Rod or whatever in Duskwood would be easier if I just corpse-hopped past the army of ghouls.
The last time was because I overestimated my ability and got roflstomped by an elite with something like 23k health and the ability to smash through my PW:S in a single hit.
Similar things happened with my shaman when I was levelling him. My death counter was stuck at around 8 until I got the ability to reincarnate at will. Then I started diving off my gryphon to make dramatic entrances around Stormwind.
Now, maybe, SOMEHOW I'm just preternaturally good at WoW despite being a mouthbreathing retard at every other game, but I really doubt that. There is a significant lack of a difficulty curve here and I am baffled to see Blizzard seemingly ignore the issue.
Jan 2nd 2011 6:41PM Legend of the Seeker isn't great because the Sword of Truth series is far from great. Remember that Raimi also did Hercules and Xena, both of which were a good example of being tongue in cheek like WoW is. He also did, you know, the Evil Dead movies and the Spiderman series.
Jan 2nd 2011 5:54PM Both of these movies were absolutely terrible. Advent Children had no plot to speak of and Silent Hill was poorly done in almost every regard.
Jan 2nd 2011 5:26PM He's not even in charge of the film. Or even related to production of the film! He's just a guy who saw some interviews ABOUT the film.
Jan 2nd 2011 5:13PM So lemme get this straight.
A guy unrelated to the production of the movie read some interviews in which Raimi is going to be mostly self-promoting and said that what he said there means that the movie is going to break bad movie trends.
Jan 2nd 2011 5:11PM @Riley: Um, what? With the exception of Meet the Feebles and Bad Taste, all of his movies had been critically well received but generally overlooked due to their low budgets and limited releases. All of his movies showed his chops as a director, ability to work within a budget, and storytelling abilities on screen. Hell, he shot the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy for just a bit more than most Hollywood Blockbusters are made for these days.
No other director could have possibly made Lord of the Rings successful.
