Breakfast Topic: Do you let your own children play WoW? {WoW}
Dec 26th 2010 2:25PM Now while I'm a little too young to have kids (16) if I had any I would let them play. One of the reasons why is that I would like to have my kids exposed to the internet and how people treat each other there. Obviously I'm talking about how BAD people can be on the internet. I want them to understand that some people are just total assholes and you should just not listen to them. I've been playing Online games such as wow ever since I was 10. One of the games I played was Runescape, and people in that game were just evil. I would freak out anytime someone said something remotely mean. I had no parent watching over me telling me that i shouldn't listen to those people. After 3 years i finally started to understand how people act on the internet. Now nothing phases me at all. I can use LFD and trade knowing that some peoples life goal is to troll others.
That's why Ill let my kids play WoW (if its still around) Ill use the profanity filter and watch over them so they don't turn into mindless idiots like a lot of other people in my age group (sorry I'm generalizing...)
