Reader UI of the Week: Get personal with Absinth's redesign for raiding {WoW}

Feb 8th 2012 5:15PM *grumbles about comment system*

However, I don't really need my personal mana bar to be so large. But I think that is a personal decision. Some people love hud-style addosn because it puts their health and power info in a prominent place. I guess if one tended to focus lock and then suddenly be on fumes it is not a bad idea to make the bar large.

Reader UI of the Week: Get personal with Absinth's redesign for raiding {WoW}

Feb 8th 2012 5:12PM As a raid healer I like to see the powers bars. Your mana may be fine, but your co-healer could be on fumes, and with this knowledge you know to pop a mana tide, hymn of hope, or maybe just heal a little harder while they regen. I also like knowing when my tanks have rage or not.

Addons that you wish were still around {WoW}

Feb 8th 2012 3:49PM Guppet is the best mount\pet addon that I have found. It still works and has been updated for 4.3, but new mount & pet codes come out slowly. I just add them manually.

Feb 8th 2012 3:39PM It is possible for Morchock to die before his clone. When that happens, however, the copy will no longer stomp or spawn crystals and can just be dps'd down.

Looking back on healing in Cataclysm {WoW}

Feb 7th 2012 12:15PM I am not sure I agree. To me, waiting a few seconds would be extremely boring. I like to be doing things as a healer, not just sitting there waiting for damage.

Raid Rx: Healing heroic Morchok {WoW}

Feb 6th 2012 10:03AM Don't be afraid to throw out those fast expensive heals on this fight. You get plenty of time to regen in the black blood phase. My mana bar barely dips on this fight now.
Also, if you are using raid cd's like barrier, spirit link totem, etc., they last long enough to get both a stomp and a crystal if timed correctly.

As mentioned in the comments, it is mostly physical damage, so each side should have devo aura\stoneskin up. Priests should be running Inner Fire and I suggest glyphing it as well.

Breakfast Topic: What parts of gameplay do you consider a chore? {WoW}

Feb 4th 2012 2:40PM For me its definitely the reputation dailies. I was so relieved to get my TB trinket and so glad I didn't have to go back. Molten Front was annoying. The only way I could get these done was to go with a friend to help ease some of the pain. I loved how Wrath added rep tokens purchasable with JP and keep wishing they would do this in Cata again. And no BOA on Therazane yet? Come on!

Oddly enough I don't mind farming for herbs or ore, or even fishing. I don't do these very often, but sometimes I just want to shut out the noise and do some sort of brainless activity to relax. I find those things and questing on alts to be very soothing. But that said, I still consider Archeology to be an annoying grind.

Shifting Perspectives: The 5 top mistakes new ferals make {WoW}

Jan 31st 2012 3:10AM Best Intro Ever.

I don't even have a feral, but that intro was fantastic and I had to read the whole article. Chase, you have real talent with writing.

The WoW economy code of ethics {WoW}

Yes it is worth it. I have done this several times, and in almost every case (I only report when I feel positive its botted goods) the sellers disappear. I even had a GM thank me once because of my report they found an account that had become compromised and were able to notify the owner. I am sure it was not just my reports that got rid of these "bad" AH sellers, but it has helped. I see it as more information for Blizzard to trace down the actual botters and help get them banned.
