Oct 2nd 2011 10:11AM Fishing is a horrible waste of time. Replace it with a mini game with a bit of skill required, like the Singing Sunflower thing. You could do it every day and get fish or recipes etc.
Aug 25th 2011 8:20PM The threat model is pretty ingrained into PVE, and it has been for a long time. The game needs a big shakeup, but I'm not sure removing tanking is it. Mess with the formula too much, you don't always see the result you want at the end.
The big problem with the game is not the mechanics its the players. The trolling environment in trade and pugs (including BGs) is a very unhealthy situation.
Closest solution I've seen suggested in recent times? Single player instances.
Aug 10th 2011 8:19PM The Guild's Clara comes to mind. "Tomorrow mommy is going to teach you to use the microwave!"
Aug 9th 2011 10:17AM To the comment earlier about "responding to topics about pugging to say you don't pug". Sticking to guild runs is a perfectly logical solution to the subject problem. It is entirely relevant and on-topic.
I don't pug either. 45 minute queues to get attitude and grief? Don't need it. I quit pve entirely after 4.1, that was my solution.
Aug 5th 2011 8:05PM NO NO NO.
Currently you have a rare pet/mount, someone sees it and knows you either had a very lucky drop or ground it out over many runs. Respect. Now people will see it, and automatically assume your mother bought it for you. Zero respect.
Second problem is applying it to weapons and armor. Not vanity pets etc, but weapons and armor. People can leapfrog your progression just by buying it. Overlay an addictive gaming environment where you can buy the best gear for real currency? It will not be optional. You will have to spend hundreds/thousands of real dollars to keep up. You are going to see all the problems with problem gambling translate into WoW. Very very bad outcome.
Aug 1st 2011 7:18PM If you find yourself playing chess somewhere where you can buy extra queens, its time to walk away.
If you think we have problems with addiction in WoW, try overlaying all the problems people have with problem gambling. There will always be a higher piece of gear you want to buy and people will buy it, regardless of the real life consequences.
Jul 28th 2011 10:19PM Blizzard just called, said the dual wield idea was really cool and they'd look at it.
Blizzard just called back, they said forget dual wield, anyone who posts Sparkle Pony doesn't deserve it.
Jul 25th 2011 10:32AM Ally alt in Stormwind, purely to buy alliance recipes from the vendor for a couple of silver each. Mail them to another in Booty Bay for the neutral AH. Horde alt sitting permanently at Tanaris to buy them, then mail them to another bank alt at the main Horde AH. Sell them for 45G each. I have a second guild bank just to store recipes. They sell 5-10 a day, have done for the past year.
Jul 24th 2011 10:35AM Its not a secret or hidden place, but I was really confused when I found the easter egg in Scholazar Basin. The panel of numbers. I had no idea what they were, and I never watched Lost so they meant nothing to me. Then I googled the numbers, and the mysterious, useless thing became clear. Easter egg!
