Cataclysm raid progression refinements {WoW}

Apr 26th 2010 2:17PM I am deeply saddened by this change.

I certainly feel and agree this will be the death of 25man raids. Maybe not for all guilds right away but it is the beginning of the end.

I have been the GM of a top tiered end game guild for over 4 years and have organized raids back to Molten Core. It can be hard work but when you succeed on content it is very fulfilling. We use our 10man groups as a springboard to our 25man content. Not so much for the loot but more the experience that we can carry with us. The 10mans allow for more flexibility and less demanding composition. These are great attributes and ultimately it will be easier to organize 2 groups filling the required roles than the 1 25man.

Then take into account loot. Less people to contend with in a 10man even when you would run either one over and over, you still have a better shot at that loot in 10man. Plus guilds that run a laborious DKP system wouldn't need to any longer. at this rate, with this implementation, the xpac after Cataclysm would not even need to design 25man content. If the game remains fun people will still do it but this is definitely another veer toward more "casual" play and downsizing.
