Oct 1st 2010 1:25PM This is definitely a good change! This is giving more options for people to be able to raid entirely.
Going to school I can't make every raid night, but at least if I help my guild the first night and can't participate the second night due to class, I can find a group of similar people and continue raiding with them! Awesome!
But, I do have one suggestion for this system. I wish it would be boss specific lockouts. Say my class gets out early and I am able to join my guild's raid for Putricide. We successfully down him. Now, I am saved to both Fest and Rot too?
I don't like that aspect of it...I need a drop/badges from as many bosses as possible. Why make it so that I am partially penalized for habing to participate in RL things?
If it were boss specific, you could even just get a group together to do one specific boss in a Raid.
That's the only change I'd like to make to this system!
Jul 15th 2010 1:17PM WTB: 1 more talent point so I can spec Icy Veins as Arcane
WTB: Icy Veins 1 section lower on the frost tree so I can spec it as an Arcane mage
Icy Veins has always been something Arcane mages have sought to spec into, its one of the only other viable reasons/options we have for another tree to spec into for PVE. So if Blizz: "wants to keep the rotations the same" then why not make it so we can?
Apr 26th 2010 7:58PM keeping Arcane in line with others?
Mages are one of the few classes that only have one job. That job is DPS. We cant roll a heal, tank or mdps offspec.
Frost = PVP, Arcane = PVE, Fire = PVE or PVP
So if you want to do more damage in PVE roll/off spec an Arcane mage, if you want to PVP roll/off spec a frost mage. If you do both equally roll/off spec a fire mage. Simple.
So in your mind:
Equality: "If I had bad eye sight, then I would mace everyone I saw so we all had bad vision"
Instead of: "Since I have bad eye sight I will get eye surgery to make my vision better"
Think about it.
Apr 26th 2010 7:44PM With the removal of SP from gear, int will definitely a must for any arcance mage in Cat. Since it wil more than likely provide SP.
Apr 26th 2010 6:18PM This is definitely an interesting gameplay mechanic.
I think the thing to remember overall here is that it will be a bonus for specing in the arcance tree. Mana Adapt will not run the entire Arcane tree.
It should be a bonus for specing in this tree and in no way SHOULD hurt us for specing Arcane. I'm hoping that it will only increase DPS as mana is higher and NOT drop dps at all when the mage is lower on mana. There is no need to penalize the mage for specing one way, it should just be a DPS increase at higher mana levels and return to normal damage once it drops below a certain percentage, and not decrease damage when mana is low. That would just be dumb.
I was really hoping for a spell of some kind along these lines:
Make it so once AB is built up to 4 stacks and a proced Arcane Missle is released a 20 sec debuff called Arcane Torment is built. This 20 sec debuff can be replenished once the mage reaches another 4 stacks of AB and releases a proced Arcane Missle again.
Once this "Arcane Torment" stack reaches 5 stacks, a spell called Arcane Beam should become available for the mage to cast. This beam should hit all targets in the path between the mage and their target and do huge damage and knockback all it hits.
To be compatable with Mana Adapt, make it so the spell can only be cast when the mages mana is above 50% and have it drain 40% of their remaining mana. The spell should also only be able to be cast once every 10-20 min (like a pallies Lay on Hands) Also have it so the Arcane Beam debuff will only last for 20 sec even on the 5th stack. This will make mages want to take that 20 sec to recover as much mana as possible before releasing the beam. It will also eliminate the fact that the 5th stack can be "stored" up and released at a later time.
What do you guys think?
