Anyway, from my LFG experience for the 5 mans, I think it's harder to find a competent tank than a healer.
Dec 15th 2006 10:25AM The first and only time I did this quest, me and Tooga were walking together (I was about 75% of the way to the destination) and all of a sudden, he shoots left and starts running. He keeps running left. I try to follow him but he moves too fast. Eventually, I get the QUEST FAILED notification. A few seconds later, Tooga runs back to me. Thanks a lot you stupid turtle! Last time I'm ever trying to do that quest again. GRR
Dec 14th 2006 11:50AM Wait. So Gist, youre saying tanks should not only be spending DKP tanking gear but on your gear to heal too? Why stop there? Why shouldn't they have to pay for DPS gear for the DPSers so they wont be killed if the healers oom? Are you coming from a functional guild?

Your second paragraph would be ideal. If you wanted to actually progress as fast as possible and you had people in greens and blues in your raid...that's what it would take. Give them the awesome upgrades. Of course they would have to have shown commitment though. Handing out "free epics" to guildies who won't stay in the guild is very detrimental. But yes, that's ideally what would happen if you wanted your guild to improve and progrss at the fastest rate possible. If they are committed players, I'm always ready to do what's best for the raid not for myself even if it means passing on an item to someone else that I trust completely.
Dec 14th 2006 11:25AM For your druid friend: He is rewarded with healing gear. DPS classes are "rewarded" with DPS gear to help the raid. In most cases, DPS gear to a hybrid/druid does not help the raid as much as it would to a specialized DPS class. If he can't be a happy healer maybe he should switch classes.
PvP toys shouldnt be handed out in a raid group that wants to actually PROGRESS at a reasonable speed. Handing out items to main raiders that "want" them over main raiders that NEED them only slows down the overall raid progress.
All of this is in the ideal point of view that people will grab and not grab items for the best of the raid group.
And for reference..my main is a 60 resto-specced druid.

They proceed to launch a full scale attack on the alliance in this clip absolutely obliterating them with a full NPC attack. Alliance witness to this were shattered and heartbroken and some still have memories of the incident eventually resorting to a full forum topic about it only to receive laughter and excitement from the Goon Squad.

The druid will never tank as well as the warrior. The initial problem is that their attack speed is a constant. You cannot speed it up. Maul, the arguably highest threat generating move is not instant and can miss, be parried or dodged (warriors have overpower and instant attacks). This causes a lot of unpredictability. Burst threat is not what you want when you're tanking. You want steady constant threat generation. Why? So burst damage classes such as mages and rogues would not be able to snag aggro between your attacks. Swipe is instant, but does not generate nearly even close to as much threat as maul. Finally, Druids may be better at migitating damage but warriors can block.
This is not to say that Druids cannot tank though. It's been done and proven for most of the lower end raid instances. I’m just saying they’re inferior to Warriors.
You clearly don't know what you're talking about. The sentence "Druids have far, FAR greater threat than most warriors" doesn't even make any sense. No one innately has threat... you also do know that Revenge is the highest threat generating move for the warrior.. not shield slam.
As for the expansion, we'll have to see. Prot specced Paladins and Feral specced Druids may be able to tank better than a non-prot specced warrior but they definitely won't be able to tank better than a Prot specced Warrior. But I guess that’s stating the obvious. Specialization classes will specialize. Anyway, that's generally speaking. Given certain situations I'm sure the Druid or Paladin will be better suited to tank.
