Same-faction battlegrounds to be available for testing on the PTR {WoW}

Apr 1st 2011 3:55AM I wish they would do this for normal BGs too because honestly I'm tired of feeling like I picked the wrong faction. If they did it for normal BGs my bad players could play against other bad players.

Breakfast Topic: Where in Azeroth would you make your imaginary home? {WoW}

Mar 29th 2011 6:28PM Nagrand would be nice cause its pretty, but you wouldn't want to live on one of the islands, it would make going to the store a pain

Two Bosses Enter: Lord Godfrey vs. Scourgelord Tyrannus! {WoW}

Mar 28th 2011 6:45PM Gotta be Lord Godfrey. Tyrannus can't dispel curses. Lord Godfrey not only has an awesome name, he is the first boss in the whole game that I can think of who uses guns. Death knight armor is no match for magic gunpowder

Spiritual Guidance: The GearScore is a lie, Page 2 {WoW}

May 1st 2010 10:38PM While I'm sure we've all got stories of people soloing the lich king with a 3k GS, gearscore is a good indication of the general gear level of a particular character. If someone is wearing all mage gear as a paladin tank to boost their GS, they're being liars. It's a fact that this game is a game of numbers. You can't put out the numbers without the gear. Raid leaders don't have time to see if you are optimized, and I wouldn't trust most raid leaders with that anyways (have I been kicked from pugs for having low healing done on recount as a disc priest? oh yes).

The way it has to work is "around what tier level is your gear?" if it's appropriate to the content then you get an invite. Then you will be judged on your performance. If you've got 5k GS but can only do 1k dps then you'll be kicked. The way the game is designed I don't understand how else it would work.

Of course, I'm certain there's nobody in the gearscore debate who is upset that they can't get carried through content they aren't geared for.

Cataclysm raid progression refinements {WoW}

May 1st 2010 10:15PM It won't kill 25 mans, but it wouldn't be a tragedy if it did. 25 mans are a pain and usually aren't fun unless you're on an incredible server or in a top tier guild. It's ~15 good players trying to drag ~10 bad, lazy players through an encounter. After every fight six people need to take 10 minute bio breaks, staggered so they don't all go at once. People have to leave after the first two bosses. They take a long time to organize, and you have to compete with more players for loot as it is now (1 item per 8.3 people instead of 1 item per 5). I've rarely enjoyed 25 mans in all my raiding time and I wouldn't cry if they become rare.

Don't make a mistake, if the loot is the same and 25 mans die, it's because people don't like 25 mans. Trying to force people through loot quality into doing a style of encounter they don't enjoy isn't something any of you deserve, honestly.
