Mar 6th 2012 7:12PM Can we stop pretending the Annual Pass is a loyalty reward? Because it isn't. The Annual Pass is cool and I'm looking forward to D3 for free, but when I signed up for it, it made absolutely ZERO difference how long I'd been signed up for WoW. That's not a loyalty reward.
It'd be cool to get an actual loyalty reward, since non-subscribers are getting all kinds of things. Am I entitled to one? Of course not. But it would be nice. The wireless companies (sort of) figured this out, I hope Bliz does too.

Jan 1st 2012 7:07PM My first trip into the Madness of Deathwing half of the RF was a long one. Half the people in the group seemed almost too familiar with the fights, to the point where their explanations weren't really explaining the key thing the other half of us were missing, because they wrote it off as something everybody already knew. People dropped group so many times I lost count. There wasn't a fight we didn't wipe on at least half a dozen times. Four hours later my guildies were wondering what on Earth I was still doing in there. I don't know if we finally found a group composition that worked, or the right players, or if I and the other newbies finally got the hang of the proper target-switching, but even though both tanks are down I realize we might actually have this. In a moment of serendipity, this rogue steps in and blows all his defensive cooldowns to keep damage off the rest of the DPS, just as most of my offensive cooldowns come back up. I figured now was not the moment to save ammo and blew them all in seconds. Almost before I realized it had happened, Deathwing was down!
I started playing WoW way back in April 2005 and have been the very definition of casual ever since. I had severe alt-itis and didn't get a toon to max level until Wrath. I joined my first guild, ran in a raid for the first time, and downed my first raid boss all just this year. I never set foot in Arthas', Illidan's, or C'Thun's lairs, let alone dreamed of killing them. Even though it was only the RF, being able to take part in beating the expansion boss for the first time in six-and-a-half years, plus the joy of finally getting past something we'd been working on for over four hours, combined for such elation that I actually whooped and did a victory dance at my desk. My celebration was so exuberant that I: 1) accidentally unplugged my headset from my computer; 2) drew the attention of the rest of the house to come running; 3) almost missed the cutscene.
My brother always calls me noob, but at least I still have fun. :-)
Jan 1st 2012 6:33PM My favorite bug was really annoying but for some reason made me laugh every time. I can't 100% recall, it might have been only on the PTR. Basically fall damage was scaled so out of whack that dismounting, going over a rock, or running down steps were fatal. Watching somebody drop dead for no apparent reason, perhaps after killing a giant demon or something, caused quite a few moments of unintentional hilarity, especially when they reacted to it.
Dec 30th 2011 1:04PM I was in LFR and maybe 1-in-4 were in range of my rogue, and KS was putting me in the air. I assumed the tanks weren't doing their job properly - sorry, random PUG-goers! - glad I wasn't a smartass about it to anybody but myself.

Dec 21st 2011 12:04PM Mumble instead of Vent... maybe I could figure out which of my guildies is talking (*besides* my brother, whose voice I do recognize) and finally match the names to the voices.
Mar 3rd 2011 7:53PM Does anybody know of an addon that will alert you when you finish quests that are completed by pressing the button in the quest log? I have a habit of returning to the quest giver when I don't need to, and if there's any special indication I've missed it.
Jan 23rd 2011 5:22PM Ahh, nothing I like better than huge post from Blizzard telling me my small friends and family guild is basically worthless. Guess I'll add this to the list of "things I won't experience."
