I'll give it a try, but think I'll be retiring my warrior & rolling a hunter as a main in cata- massive buffs for them. Makes it look even more like no-one at Blizz actually plays a warrior; there's going to be enough "tombs of the forgotten warriors" in cata to fill Barrens, let alona a mountain top, methinks.

hunters weakness= melee range.
Live with it. For one, if you introduce pistols, you'd be bringing in a class-specific weapon, and to Lara Croft them (dual wield) you'd be seriously OP.
Secondly, hunters are already a leading DPS class, they need no more buffs. If you're increasing hunter melee ability, then by the same argument you have to give other melee classes auto-shoot and ranged ability; paladins, rogues and warriors are weak at range, you see......
This is a popular forum topic, and is always raised by GTA/ Tomb Raider fans who play hunters. The rest of the people who play the game (cough, majority) think that hunters are fine, QQ a lot about their class weakness and should go watch Lara's pixelated butt if they want to DW pistols.

A class which uses heaviest armour in the game, has many AOE abilities, can heal, has an immunity from attack, ranged attacks..... seriously, this isn't viewed as OP?
Personally I'm sick of playing against a plate class that can heal, use a bubble immunity and stuns then runs in circles hitting AOE/ autoattack and ranged seal- based attacks. It's almost perfectly designed for random button mashers.
Being a hybrid is fine, but Pallies are too able in all 3 major roles, simultaneously - which is why we have so many damn Belf pallies running round: it's a case of if you can't beat them, join them- FOTM.
Yes, make all 3 trees viable, but for healers, nerf melee, AOE and armor.
For DPS, remove healing talents, nerf armor, maybe boost AOE to make them a "support" DPS class
For tanking, remove healing and knock down the damage.
Balance and skill need to be brought back to the class, otherwise, we'll all soon be playing WoP- Cataclysm (World of Paladins)...... I've resisted rolling a Paladin so far, but as other class nerfs are listed and Pallies never seem to be touched, I don't know how much longer I can resist, especially with the Tauren option appearing soon.....
