Apr 3rd 2012 4:20PM I actually find that dude's comments equally bizarre regardless of gender. Why he would need to comment on the physical appearance of either and include an assessment of their probable effect on members of the opposite sex upon first meeting a PC probably says more about HIS character than the developers overall outlook on gender roles.
Apr 2nd 2012 9:06AM I had never seen this Kosak guy before, but in the couple short minutes of this video he was eminently likeable. They should replace that Metzen jackass with this dude as their main spokesman. Also, WTB Ol' Blanchy commemorative mount.
Mar 28th 2012 12:21PM The Mistborn series is great! I don't even usually like fantasy but a friend made me read them.
Mar 22nd 2012 7:35PM While there may be less single ladies on board, at least the ones that are there won't mind that you're a WoW geek.
Mar 22nd 2012 6:31AM I can see striving to down a boss pre-nerf (whether the nerf is toggled or not) and I can even see being upset if that first nerf comes through with little warning, but you have a point. Once a boss is nerfed who cares to what extent? No one is going to boast that they killed Deathwing at a 10% rather than a 15%. On a side note I think it might be a good idea for Blizzard to stagger the nerfs for Normal and Heroic. That way when guilds see Normal get the nerf they know to step up their game before the next patch. It is conceivable to me that there are Heroic-capable guilds that can progress, just very slowly. At any rate, it may cut down on the complaining.

IIRC, the concept of Amazons was based on specific tribes that were actually discovered IN the Amazon wherein the females were the hunters/warriors and the males mainly pursued agricultural interests. The ancient Greeks, of course, never knew of the existence of this region. I agree, however, that for modern fantasy purposes the archetypal "Amazon" model often exhibits classical Greek attributes.
Mar 20th 2012 8:34AM Ya, the whole hiding names and losses thing is just stupid IMO. Why not mask the names of all players in PvP situations too, if they don't want anyone to feel bad. The duelling outside city gates, which I feel is an environment especially conducive to trash talk, is a relatively civil affair on my server so I can't imagine pet battles being too much worse. If Blizzard really intends this to be for small children they should make it a separate free downloadable game that doesn't carry a Teen rating and make it free with every sub.
Also, when I get pwnd in a pet battle I'd like the option of seeking that player out for a rematch when I get more skilled, as I've often done in duels.
Mar 9th 2012 1:08PM As a shaman, I'll trade you buffs. We'll do it in secret and not tell Blizzard ;)
Mar 8th 2012 1:20PM I've gotten around 30 bogus figurines so far. The weird thing is, I stepped up my game about a month ago and started farming it in ernest (2-3 hours a day, 3-4 days a week) and have actually found way less figurines. I swear, the game knows when you REALLY want something. Meanwhile I see one or two new Camel-Hoarders running around SW every day.
