Breakfast Topic: Been waiting an excrutiatingly long time for this {WoW}

Mar 8th 2012 12:58PM Took me just under 21K eligible casts to get the turtle mount. I had finally given up on it but happened to catch it while I was idly casting into Valgarde nodes while waiting for some guildies to zone in for a UK run. Maybe that's the key. It will pop for you when you finally stop looking for it.

One gear set for PvE and PvP in Mists of Pandaria? {WoW}

Mar 7th 2012 6:50PM I don't really understand why this continues to be an issue. Blizzard keeps saying they want the gear barrier to be less of an issue when attempting to go from a PvE environment into a PvP situation. That's fine, but just how little of an effort are they seeking to require from people? I've only been into PvP since Wrath when the glory that was Wintergrasp got me fully addicted. Since I lacked any type of PvP gear at all I decided to randomly enter some BGs. Sure I died a lot and contributed very little at first but I rapidly learned the workings of each scenario and, what's more, learned how to stay alive with what little resilience I had. I also noticed that honor piled up extremely quickly, as it still does today. I had a full basic set of PvP gear in less than two weeks and my mortality rate dropped alarmingly. My point is, if the newly implemented LFR tool acts as a gateway to the raiding culture as far as gearing and experience are concerned, then normal BGs have already been fulfilling this role for PvP from the start. I think that at some point the problem with getting more PvE to PvP crossover has less to do with gear and general accessibility and more to do with the fact that simply a smaller percentage of WoW players enjoy playing against other players than they do other aspects of the game.

I have very little interest in Warcraft lore and don't care too much about Horde/Alliance rivalry, although I do PvP extensively. That being said, having played my Draenei almost exclusively since the day BC popped, allowing the Horde to kill Velen would borderline piss me off FOR REAL.
