BlizzCon 2011: Screenshots of the new Pandaria talents for all classes {WoW}

Oct 22nd 2011 12:38PM When I read Blizz are overhauling talents (again) I was pretty skeptical, and looking it over I don't understand there reasoning much; Cata showed you'll never eradicate 'cookie-cutter' specs and forcing utility talents on them always feels like a forced concept at best. So the solution it seems is to make talent points even more boring.

I've always thought blizz's stance here ironic, given that whenever a spec arises that deviates too much from the norm (i.e. shockadins, early HaT rogues, spellpower enh shaman, or hybrid specs in general), they'll play whackamole with the nerfbat, and still espouse an ideology of letting players have a genuine choice.

On a side note, looking at the pala talents (sanctified Wrath @lvl90), I'm quietly hoping we see a shockadin revival in PVP at least.

Totem Talk: Prelude to restoration's new talents {WoW}

May 12th 2010 10:30AM My first thought was to dismiss your comment with the usual 'dw resto just doesn't add up', but then i remembered the new reforging ability for Cata. Will this be usable on weps? If so we might actually get around Blizz policy of no caster one-hands. Sounds like it'll only change one stat, but that'll still be huge if its to SP or spirit (which we'll want by then).
That leaked talents link isn't working for me atm so i cant propose a spec for this, but the mere speculation of viable dw earthliving.............

Totem Talk: Prelude to restoration's new talents {WoW}

May 11th 2010 7:19PM OK theres nothing official about this info, but coming from a resto perspective I'm a little underwhelmed. As mentioned the crit talents are gone, but i thought the plan was to do away with dull talents like healing way, purification and improved chain heal to make way for more fun stuff.
Also, despite the optimism in the article, I cant seriously see how this talent shake-up would remotely change how resto plays now. With Wrath, tidal waves and riptide at least gave reason to take the drinking bird away from the chain heal key.
Playing around with this talent calc, after taking the obvious talents, and going down enh to pick up elemental weps, I end up with 9 points left to spend on talents I would never use as a resto shaman.
Heres hoping all this will be a moot point.
