Apr 3rd 2012 4:18PM The creepy comment bothers me a bit more than the skimpy armor, to be honest. I haven't seen a single NPC tell my forsaken lady how sexy she is.. but them's the breaks with a rotting face.
Perhaps it'd be even creepier if some NPC did find the purification sexy.
Basically, I don't want to be chatted up by some old fart in real life, so why make it happen in my game?
The flip of this is that while I don't particularly love chainmail bikinis, it's high-fantasy armor and there are plenty of reasonable options (along with completely baffling "decapitate yourself with your own pauldrons" types too).
I will toss on some skimpy stuff in game because it's an option and it can be fun and silly, but being hit on by some creep isn't optional in game, I guess if he's your faction representative.
Apr 3rd 2012 12:11PM For some reason I love things like this. I know we aren't meant to see it but I love getting this peek into the sandbox. Going "behind the curtain" feels eerie and exciting and I wish I stumbled on to things like this firsthand.
Mar 30th 2012 8:49AM You made my face do this: =D
Mar 30th 2012 6:42AM Oh man, I know! Have you seen the novels! They are sooooo out of date.
You have to look at WORDS and imagine the video
no voice acting
no graphics at all (unless you count the covers- and I DON'T- that's half-assed)
loading screens whenever you have to turn the page
and they expect you to pay like $8 to buy the damn things.
Mar 22nd 2012 1:24PM I beg to differ, actually.
I think this body shape is actually quite cute and will attract those players that like a "pretty" race. Here's my reasoning, while those who want "pretty" may find a human-looking short, squat race less attractive, there is an extra level of separation in that players who want "pretty" aren't actually bear-faced.
Another thing, I'm relatively certain that pandaren aren't short. Short and squat seems unattractive in todays society. Being taller and curvy is far more acceptable. If you bring up gnomes, their society tends toward more playfulness which is inherently cute, even if they are shaped like basketballs with legs.
I alts tend toward female tauren and trolls because I am more like that shape than any of the others (thicker legs, taller, muscular).
That said, my main is forsaken and shadowy and super evil and that is my "escape" time.
Mar 21st 2012 4:17PM I consider Lilian Voss to be a true Shadow Ascendant, so I think it would be cool if some of our attacks could put purple flames on/around our targets.
I love LOVE and I guess, shall soon have to make that LOVED the artwork for Devouring Plague. The giant purple skull and crossbones showing up over very large bosses always made me smile because I knew "That was me!" Now that DP is going away, could we reuse that art for something spectacular?
The hard part about thinking about visuals for our spells is that we are scrambling brains. We use psionic attacks, so the damage is less visual. Perhaps a small shadow whirlwind that builds in size around us rather than shadow "orbs" as we build the power. It seems more like it's being stirred up by invisible unholy power. First is the shadow whirlwind, second level adds red crackles of lightning and third "orb" adds a bit of white sparks.
Mar 12th 2012 11:17AM I have never and will never heal. My boyfriend, however doesn't seem to like classes that don't use spirit. He's heals crazy.
Jan 11th 2012 9:33AM The faint detail at the top of the axe leads me to believe it's dwarven, therefore dear ol' da.
Jan 9th 2012 8:39AM I don't make everything wither-based however. I try to go as RP-ish as I can imagine.
I have a lady orc mage named Guratok
Lady trolls named Erzilie and Shiki
My troll dude is Sarzuul
I've got a hedonistic belfy lady called Anowynna
My pretty sunwalker is Ahnya
Gritty gobby named Ubizzy
Undead lock named Lavinnia
Then I've got a DK mule named Quasarsglow for old times sake.
Jan 9th 2012 8:35AM My first toon was an undead priest who was destined to be shadow (I read up on the classes before hand). Being all undead-like I wanted to show the ending of life and also have a fun play on words.
