Fully localized WoW launching in Brazil {WoW}

Jul 22nd 2011 9:40PM Oh, and the funniest thing is: they translated everything, BUT the name of the game. Why not Mundo da Guerra? ;-)

Fully localized WoW launching in Brazil {WoW}

Jul 22nd 2011 9:19PM I wonder if you will NEED to play in Portuguese to get the local pricing. I avoid translations as much as possible, since they're always far from perfect.

I might even keep paying more if that's the case.

"Ventobravo" simplesmente não dá :-)

Fully localized WoW launching in Brazil {WoW}

Jul 22nd 2011 9:13PM From the Brazilian Blizzard page:

"Posso transferir meus personagens atuais para um servidor em português?

Nossa intenção é oferecer gratuitamente, e por um período limitado, a transferência de personagens para os brasileiros que estiverem atualmente jogando em servidores norte-americanos. Mais detalhes serão anunciados posteriormente."

Can I transfer my current characters to a portuguese server?

Our intention is to offer free character transfers for a limited period, for Brazilians who are currently playing in North American servers. More details will be announced later.

Tier 11 normal mode raid bosses to give valor points again {WoW}

Jul 19th 2011 1:49PM And what's worse..you still have to queue and run the instances to shoot them in the face...

Tier 11 normal mode raid bosses to give valor points again {WoW}

Jul 19th 2011 1:48PM Add 40 min queues + another 40 min to clear the instance...uh I'm pretty sure I can run T11 in less time. Plus the fights are more interesting and more fun, and the rewards better.

Plus, it's a matter of repetition. It's the choice between running Zuls over and over and over, or running all T11 and a couple of Zuls instead.

Arcane Brilliance: The two-button mage myth {WoW}

Jul 16th 2011 9:39PM Why do a spec has to be complex to be fun?

I have a hunter sitting at 84, cause I find the whackamole rotation and aspect dancing extremely annoying. Plus a pet to manage. Plus keeping out of melee range. Plus macroing and keybinding through my nose, cause the 1-0 slots can't take care of half the stuff you need to use.

I love my Arcane mage. It is simple and straightforward, and the Mana Adept mechanic adds just the right amount of complexity to make it fun. Plus, it leaves me room to pay attention to fire, adds, etc.

But then I again, I play to have fun, not to prove anything to anyone.

P.S. - Fire is fun also, but too dependent on a good RNG and a series of sequential procs. Though free running scorches are pure win. I wonder if there's any other spec that can use a decent spell while depleted of resources, at will, running (OMG faceroll QQ).

Breakfast Topic: What class should a brand new player pick? {WoW}

Jul 15th 2011 12:41PM My wife has rolled a few of characters, but always gets bored before level 30. My first recommendation was pally for these very reasons: plate, self-heals, mana (easier resource to manage), three specs.

Later she decided to play a ranged class, so I suggested SPriest, again for the self heals. If you're not an experienced gamer, having the ability to heal yourself makes a huge difference.

Thrall: Twilight of the Aspects discounted for preorder on Amazon {WoW}

Jul 12th 2011 6:26AM $13 for this, while a "A Dance with Dragons" was $12? Hmmmmm, pass. I read the Shattering, it's just not worth the money.

Cataclysm Post-Mortem: Vashj'ir page 2 {WoW}

Jun 16th 2011 7:28AM @ DeathPaladin

And that's why I quit Vash'jir midway and never went back.
