Ol' Grumpy's first week with Patch 4.1 {WoW}

May 3rd 2011 11:07AM Yes, you can. Just stamp them out. Do you really want these people to stay in this game? I'm not saying to call them names or harass them in any way. Just keep pressing for more involvement. I know that Blizz/Activision is interested in their money but I'm not so I'd rather see them gone then destroy the game I love. Why should I adjust my standards down rather then promote the rising of them?

May 3rd 2011 11:01AM But why do they come completely unprepared? Please tell me that you logged on day 1 of 4.1 and never read or watched a single video. That's the people I'm talking about. I ask - do you know tactics; answer - no. Why is it so hard to go to a youtube and watch 10 min of video or read a website?

I only detest absolute lack of will to prepare before playing and people leaving after one or two tries because me and the healer did not carry them through the entire instance.

I can deal with wiping 10 times if I see people are learning or just lack the gear and we need to improve to reduce incoming damage or adjust in some other way.

May 3rd 2011 10:54AM Why do you people keep saying it's just a game? I hear it all the time. How the hell did it become main explanation for not being able to play this game at any decent level and not to bother to learn how to play it? It's not a game for 3 year olds where a nanny will pat you on the back for participation. Unless that's what you people want. How about valor points per minute spent in the dungeon? No matter if you kill anything, just for the effort. It's a game after all. Go have fun, run around, here's a lolly.

My definition of fun is completing something challenging and being good at it. Your is to get through a dungeon in 10 min like in end of WOTLK. Why do you people expect to get the same things dedicated players get? You are putting absolutely zero effort in. You'll get your 10 minut runs after 4.2 most likely. Just shut up and wait if you do not have the mental capacity to take instructions from someone who cares about playing this game and all you can do is throw fits at them when they tell you to stop and listen. Kindergarten analogy from above again. Not by coincidence. That's how most people behave these days.

May 3rd 2011 8:39AM You must be the people I have to put up with in the runs. Nice to know you come here too. Go look up these guides and learn to play.

May 3rd 2011 4:01AM I think there is something wrong with you people. I get the feeling that you are defending the people who have no idea how to play this game. If at this stage I need to explain to someone the tactics for the fights that means they are wasting my time. How many guides and videos are on the net? GO WATCH THEM AND LEARN. That's what I did, how forking hard is that? Why am I supposed to put up with people who do not care and just want the loot dropped in their bags with zero effort? I've put my effort into learning how to play, I expect others to do the same. So yes, I will call you names if you have no idea what you are doing and we wipe for the same reason on boss many times. I can wipe 20 times on a boss when I see progress. I've been in new instances for 3-4 hours trying to teach people how to play. And rather then learn they just quit after failing on the same thing over and over and over.

When I press that button to find group I expect to find people who want to complete the run quickly, smoothly and without writing a ton of text explaining each pull. I do not care that you are a "casual" player and do not have time to learn anything outside the game. Go level and alt or something or get gear through reputation. If you drive on the roads once a month does it allow you to not learn how to drive? No, it's the same with this game.

I'm a tank by the way if that's not obvious from the fact that I care about my role and my skills. Nobody but tanks seems to do that these days but I still go there hoping to see good players and I sometimes get rewarded with such people.

Why don't you start complaining about how hard it is to PUG raids next? That'd be fun to read :) At the end of wrath you could close your eyes, press two buttons and get to LK with anyone. Ok, 4 buttons, you had to turn sometimes.

Rant over, I can go back to wipe fests, I mean heroics :P I'll not give up till I teach you all how to play or run out of gold.

Guild experience no longer earned via guild achievements {WoW}

Dec 8th 2010 6:47AM So how is the guild with only lvl 85 toons going to level now? At lvl 85 you get no xp for quests or killing mobs in heroics. How does this work?

The Daily Blues {WoW}

Aug 20th 2010 10:23AM Maybe it's not good feedback if it cannot be structured? I would never accept a problem report that does not tell exactly where the problem is and how it manifests itself. These people are testers. They are supposed to test. Sure some of that testing is about liking it or not but still you need to precise with your reasons.

Same with change requests. Everything can be structured. If someone says it does not they are just lazy and/or do not want to follow the process.

At the end of the day WoW is not more complicated that a financial solution at a bank. If they manage to break down "I do not trust the numbers on this report" into a change request form any other person can transform "I do not like playing my drood in Cata" into a set of reasons and examples.

Aug 20th 2010 9:34AM On the quality of testing - I agree that people see beta's as a chance to play the game for free early.

But to get away form that you do not build forums but proper bug/change request reporting. GC outlined exactly what data they would like to see. Build a form for capturing these and you'll get what you need.

Official forum changes, real life names to be displayed {WoW}

Jul 7th 2010 7:52AM Exactly, now just display it to everyone so that I do not troll in case I might, if not who cares. Please, please :)

There are some awards for the most stupid thing done in a year, right? Blizz just made a good shot for the prize.

From what I remember there are countries when even the scores from your uni tests are only displayed next to the Student ID for data protection issues. I guess Blizz never heard this phrase :)

Probably all Cataclysm expansion threads combined did not score that many responses :) Way to use people interest in the product - piss them off and they will flood by millions. Now charge for every post :) I'm going now. 21 days of subscription left I need to watch what I write so they do not ban me :) Or maybe not? Let's troll :) CU
