Arcane Brilliance: What the MoP beta means for arcane mages {WoW}

Mar 31st 2012 8:20PM It says right in the tooltip that Arcane Missiles has a chance to proc from damaging spells. I'd bet that the best decision will be to use it every time it procs, since it saves mana, and since it, according to the Mists talent calculator, actually does more DPS than Arcane Blast (though this could change).

Lichborne: Testing notes and goals for death knights in the Mists of Pandaria beta {WoW}

Mar 28th 2012 10:52AM They've stated that they're cutting back on weapon % damage in attacks and buffing weapon damage to compensate, with the intent that the changes will just counter each other at high levels. The reasoning was to lower twink damage in lower level PvP brackets (at least, that's what I've heard). Also, I'm pretty sure I've seen a blue post stating that Blood will still have a 30 second Outbreak (one of those invisible changes that the talent calculator doesn't show).

Mar 27th 2012 8:59PM While I was initially a bit apprehensive towards the increased emphasis on active tanking, I feel that the Paladin system has shaken out quite well, and I hope that they're still working on Death Knight tanking. DK's are often held up as the quintessential active tank, but, to me, at least, active tanking involves making decisions with trade-offs, such as the way that Paladins in Mists will decide to spend their Holy Power on healing, shielding, or increased mitigation. Death Knights, however, have a very singular focus: to churn out lots of Death Strikes. While there certainly is skill involved in getting the most out of the Death Strikes, I would still prefer more options for our tanking system. Separating Blood Shield from Death Strike would be my first thought, and that could also help to solve many issues surrounding the scalability of our Mastery. Ultimately, I think that there are many things anticipate in Mists for Blood and for Death Knights in general, but I still see many issues left untouched, and I look forward to seeing how Blizzard addresses them.
