Ghostcrawler on guild organization in Cataclysm {WoW}

Jun 18th 2010 2:05AM I hope they put perks for both pve and pvp on each lvl or at least perks that benefit both types of gameplay. Getting a perk every other lvl that just feels useless could make it an awkward system. On the other hand there are many more types of gameplay then just pve and pvp e.g. lvling, casual, alts, rollplay. And getting perks for each of the different play styles could prove impossible.

Breakfast Topic: How realms evolve (or don't) {WoW}

May 28th 2010 10:13AM On the server I play (Frostwhisper EU) we have recently gone thru a massive change in the horde alliance ration. It has favoured the horde for a long time but the past few months loads of players have stated "Ally is dead. I'm moving horde". And therefore Ally has kinda died.

I feel it's largely a self proclaiming prophecy. I don't want to say that this is the main reason for people switching sides, but it often comes down to rumors that eventually come true.

Stuff like "horde always win bgs" is common. I have played roughly 600 games (maybe not much, but still enough to make a kind of statistical assumption) on my main and actually won more then lost. I am just one person but it still gives some kind of idea to the actual ratio of win-loss about 50-50. When it comes to bg's one also has to take into account that its not a clash between factions on the same server any more.

Right now there are some pros to being on a faction side with more players; first u most often win wg (at least on our server), something that hopefully will change with the balance changes and second u can more easily pug raids, something that might change with the cataclysm changes where there is only 1 lockout period for both 25 man 10 man, making pugs more for alts that don't want to run with the guild.

All in all I think server faction balance is something that blizzard should focus more on. Not that I personally mind too much being on the underdog side, but it just feels better when the sides are more balanced.

p.s. Im sorry for crappy spelling and grammar :P
