Dec 17th 2010 5:03PM Have you tried goblins? They're pretty whimsical too.
Dec 17th 2010 2:25PM I feel your proposition isn't all that unreasonable. I honestly think the game should have been called "World of Azeroth", with war being a prominent but optional part of it. Why can NPCs recruit across both factions for their organizations, but we can't do the same for our guilds?
Dec 17th 2010 1:35PM I'll never seriously play the Horde, even *if* all my friends suddenly faction changed to them. They know it, too. Their behavior as a whole since release has made me sick, and at this point I'm seriously considering the position of seeing the orcs deported back to Outland with a "You broke your world; fix it before you break anyone else's".
(Drek'thar and his people can stay though in that unlikely event; even hardcore Alliance should respect him after his response to the despicable Forsaken)
Oh, and don't get me started on the hardcore Horde loyalists. They're why cults exist. Turning off your brain when someone says "FOR THE HORDE!" is not a virtue, it's why any nation wind up with leaders like Garrosh in the first place. As far as I'm concerned, they got the warchief that well represents them. And don't get me started on Horde lore, it makes me retch. Almost all of it is about "redemption" without any actual effort to change one's behavior, let alone making reparation to one's victims. Basically they're redeemed to each other and no one else, which really does not count for anything.
So no. I don't care if I'm the last Alliance on my server, I'd quit sooner than join any of my friends who went Horde. However, I don't have anything against people who play the Horde for their races or lore or really enjoys that side of the game. I wish I could *group* or even guild with characters like Cairne, Vol'jin or Thrall or players who joined the Horde with them as their role model. They're not part of the problem.
Dec 17th 2010 1:09PM Where have the Ebon Blade been since the Cataclysm? We've seen Thassarian and Koltira in the WPL as part of a quest chain, but they're as much part of the Alliance/Horde and don't really count. What have they been doing since the fall of Arthas?
Someone said *paladins* are being neglected? the Ebon Hold music and sound effects are glitched right now and don't even play right! There also needs to be something there to shoo out non-DKs who can just fly up there now. (with possible exceptions for people exalted with the faction)
Dec 7th 2010 9:48PM Ironically, I think the Etherium would scoff at the profit you're turning away by giving this away instead of e-baying it.
Nov 23rd 2010 12:04PM Well, a non-zero chance at winning free game time isn't a bad thing, but the fact I'm commenting shows I really need to brush up on how numbers work.
Nov 21st 2010 10:07PM She's pretty misunderstood to boot, even by people in the real world. Well meaning but misguided feminists take potshots at her for caring about Arthas, when they really ought to be picking fights that mean something.
(I for one think we can't complaint how women are portrayed in Warcraft if we're still tolerating the female night elf animation -- something I've considered hacking the game client somehow to remove)
Nov 19th 2010 11:51PM I love all the points you made, but there is one you missed -- Moonkin just aren't all that pleasant to look at. The model really shows its age after all these years, and the weird sounds and even movements they make don't really convey a creature of poise or dignity.
And you're right -- the whole point of the shapeshift seems to be just to have a shapeshift in each tree. But there is no real good reason for them for them, and moonkin form should probably go the way of the tree.
Nov 13th 2010 7:09PM Nope, still there.
