Totem Talk: For the love of PvP {WoW}

Jun 2nd 2010 7:32AM I'm a PvPer by heart, but I am NOT an Arena-goer. Or atleast not much of one. I do, however, keep up with arenas- as in, what compositions are hot in what bracket and what speccs are working with each individual specc, etc...

If you go Resto Shaman for 2's, you'll want a good heavy hitting ranged. Melee wont work the best because, well, it just doesn't seem to work the best. Blood Lust will benefit a Mage or Warlock much more than it will benefit a Rogue or Warrior, and Rogues and Warriors don't do a high amount of damage. They're more utility than burst. For this reason, it's more common for a Rogue to want to pair up with an Elemental Shaman or Balance Druid. The Rogue provides interupts and stuns, while the 'do 100k damage in three seconds' Shamans and Druids provide the damage.

15 Minutes of Fame: Classic raiders keep a different pace {WoW}

Jun 1st 2010 4:12PM Although this comment might not fully pertain to this entire article, I WILL say this-

I've raided since Vanilla WoW and I've played the game since the first few weeks of it being live. And it really, really twists my knickers when I'm on Youtube or something and I see a bunch of stupid kids commenting about "How awesome the Vanilla raids were and how epic it was to be in a giant raid". I mean, jeez. Comments like that are a giant red flag that says "I started playing in Burning Crusade, or most probably Lich King. Either that or I didn't raid at 60." because nearly NO ONE liked raiding the old 40 man raids. They were stupidly hard, you needed all 40 people to know what they were doing (You normally had a better chance of finding a nintey-leaf clover) they were long, boring, and while the content of epic drops (even from trash) was really high, seeings how there was normally atleast five or six people of your class and around ten or more people who could use the drop, walking out of a full 40 man run with like one or two drops was normal.

Not only that, but the difficulty ramp in raids was ridiculous. My guild was able to easly clear up to the Twin Emporers in AQ 40 (We cleared the whole thing, but we did everything up to Centipede boss without any difficulties) but when Naxxaramas came out, doing the first few bosses seemed impossible.

There's a reason they changed forty man raids into the easier to do/manage 10's and 25's, and good freaking on Blizzard for it. Never let ANY jerkoff tell you how 'epic' forty man raids were. Never.

With love-

Officers' Quarters: Mailbox roundup {WoW}

May 31st 2010 1:48PM I think the guy who sold the Battered Hilt had every right to sell it.

We're talking about 10k gold. Not a few Abyss Crystals he had laying around in his bank. Selling it for 6k was pretty damned generous in it's own, and if the guild is going to abuse him in that way, he should really just leave it. No reason to be made the butt end of abuse for "Not giving the guildie an item worth 10k+ gold"

On a similiar note, Quel'Delar is a freaking horrible sword and I hope the guildie enjoys replacing it as soon as he starts doing ICC 10 normal mode.
