Mar 18th 2011 10:32AM About 18 months ago, we got 'brb earthquake'.
The player logged pretty quickly. Exclamations on Vent were along the lines of 'is he serious?' (his English wasn't brilliant).
We waited 10 mins or so and got another guildie in place whilst turning on Sky News.
Large earthquake in Turkey that night. Fortunately he wasn't too badly affected and logged back in an hour later but it still gets talked about today...
Oct 15th 2010 11:26AM Not all people that play wow are complete prats - but one does seem to bump into them all too often. Unfortunately, it's an ideal place for bullies as they hide behind their character and be as cruel and nasty as they like with no social conscience or consequence.
There are, however, some great people that play who will accept you for who you are and who you want to be.
I wish you the best of luck and hope that you find a guild deserving of you.
Sep 2nd 2010 6:53PM Hmmmm...so when's the hot date then Jakey?
Sep 2nd 2010 6:47PM Hey again - the GL of AOoW here - again....
Just wanted to say thanks to those people who have commented on here and looked at the post as a positive thing and an achievement to a great guild. It's always reassuring to know that there are some good and decent people that play this game.
For the rest of you, I really hope that my kids will grow up to be a lot better mannered and polite than you are.
And to my guildies - you're a great bunch and I enjoy the fun, laughs and friendship from all of you:)
Sep 2nd 2010 10:54AM Stony,
Sep 2nd 2010 4:58AM I am the GL of Ancient Order of Wisdom (standing on the 2nd row with the white T shirt on).
I'm kind of surprised to see all these comments regarding our weight on here because this was about a pretty imba wow achievement of a guild celebrating 5 years and still going strong! You know what - we had an absolute BLAST!
So, for all of you who have made the comments - we are a great guild, with some fantastic people who get together on-line to have a laugh a joke and to kill the LK as well as going through BC and Vanilla bosses. Who cares if some of us need to shed a couple of pounds (one of the guildies in particular will be doing so when she has her baby in a few months time!).
For anyone that was in York during the weekend of 20th August, and saw a group of people having a brillant time and perhaps being a little rowdy, occasionally laughing to hard to walk properly - I hope we didn't disturb your weekend too much.
Roll on 6 years as a successful guild, some imba guild achievements come Cata and Wisfest 2011!
Jun 6th 2010 10:59AM Best one I've heard - 'Got to go - Earthquake'.
After a few 'What did he say?'s, we replaced and continued our run....the next day, the news was full of the earthquake in Turkey - fortunately, not too close to where he lives.
I have kids and know that sometimes you have to run afk. Having said that, I will only sign up to groups when they're asleep in bed to try and minimize the risk - plus my guild is understanding.
Having said that, there are some people that don't have any regard for others and will leave just because they can't be bothered. Just a little respect goes a long way....and I'm thinking that a macro might be a useful thing for when the 'bump' comes and the little one falls out of bed.
Jun 1st 2010 10:06AM We got Sindy down and had 2 goes on TLK last night...today, I've re-written tactics and since viewing this, embedded it on our guild website!
The best video encounter of this fight I have seen - and I've been searching.
Will be getting all the team to view this before we go back tonight.
