Oct 6th 2010 9:07PM The doesn't affect us at all, my guild only has 50ish members. Even though I play Alliance on a different server, I will be interested to read how AIE and Taint will work around this to ensure the survival of their huge communities. I believe Taint use an addon to keep them all together, I wonder if this will become standard for large guilds.
Oct 6th 2010 8:56PM First thing I'll be doing is playing the Auction house, and checking out my professions.
At the same time as AHing, as GM I expect to get flooded with questions from my guild. Most of my members have been avoiding spoilers, or just haven't bothered reading anything and only know the small amount of Cata info I've told them.
After that I'll explore the new UI properly, and change my video settings.
Then I'll look at the new guild UI and guide our members through what it all means.
Next thing I'll be doing is talking to the druid trainer and playing around with my specs.
Then I'll train old world flying, and maybe 310%, I haven't decided yet.
Then I'll fly around all of the Alliance cities just because I think the novelty of it is going to be awesome.
I'm hoping that enough time would have passed that I could mosey over to the next zone and start levelling to 85 without it being too busy. I'm going to mine like crazy. I levelled in Wrath too quickly to keep up with my old guild, this time I'm going slowly, reading all of the quests and exploring as much as I can. I feel compelled to level first in my guild so I can be there to help, be on my main to recruit and answer questions first hand but I'm going to try hard not to.
After my druid is at 85 I'll roll a... Goblin maybe? I can't level Horde to save my life but the Goblin starter area looks AMAZING. Then after my Gobby is 10, I'll roll a Worgen druid probably, and then after that a Gnome priest and then after that an Undead something to see their lore.
So maybe the actual first thing I do is get rid of some alts on my main server to make room for all my new friends.
Oct 4th 2010 6:48PM Considering I interrupted an exciting conversation about Doritos... yes. I think I did.
Oct 4th 2010 11:11AM I was surprised this was not mentioned by anyone in general or trade tonight in Dalaran. I shared with guildies and then prodded trade with a stick. Turns out no one had seen the press release yet, which I spose is to be expected because it's only around 2am here in Australia. The sad part was that out of like 50 responses on trade, only 3 showed any level of enthusiasm.
Aw trade, you're always grumpy before your morning coffee. And after your morning coffee.. and before your lunch co...
Sep 27th 2010 10:01AM It took me a while to read all of the comments but as far as I know no one has suggested this yet. I'm not in the Beta but I'm wondering if the removal of portals is a temporary measure to encourage the Beta testers to actually move around Azeroth as it is now designed instead of portal jumping?
From reading the Beta forums and hearing from friends who are in it I got the impression that many people who have accepted the invitation have done so just to see what the new UI and stuff is like and the players heavily testing and offering constructive feedback are in the quiet minority. I wonder if this is a push to get people out and travelling between zones for testing and the portals will be returned for launch.
If I'm wrong, I don't mind if this change makes it to launch. I quite like travelling, and I rarely find myself in a rush to get around the world. I understand many people are though, and I feel for you if portals are something you heavily rely on.
Sep 22nd 2010 7:28PM I'd like our toons to be wet after coming out of water. Jut a few seconds of water drips or small puddles under our feet for the first couple of footsteps would be very cool.

If my server was that bad, I think I'd transfer. D:
Sep 4th 2010 8:50AM The guild I run is a small (around 40 members), social levelling guild but I don't see it as being much different from a large guild focussed on progression. We don't tolerate jerks and our members feel a responsibility to represent our group positively. We might be a tiny percentage of our server but players always remember the guilds of asshats and that's not what we'd like to be known for.
Sep 3rd 2010 9:32PM I need a Boomkin suit for Halloween so bad.
I love my spec.
