Jan 5th 2011 7:41PM I'm finding that on this boss our group is having ALOT of trouble with searing flames. It is an Australian group with ping varying from 300-600 between players, and have found that waiting to see the actual searing flame cast has been fatal on multiple occasions. We are now pre-emotively interrupting it, however this often results in an early stun and a wasted gong :(

Dec 23rd 2010 1:44AM @ sean. IMO tanks are normally the bads. WOTLK seems to have bred ignorance in them. Especially pally tanks.... i know you only have ~3 single target moves.... But it's better losing threat and having to taunt a single target than breaking every single cc around. And to that warrior who heroic leaped in to every pull, breaking cc's even after party repeatedly asked him to stop. Fuck you.

Dec 23rd 2010 1:40AM In my opinion, as stated above somewhere a successful pug heroic run is focussed largely on the dungeon guide, and not getting any really undergeared/horrible players. For the first few days after launch (hit 85 a day and a half after or something) heroics were HARD. However, in the short while cata has been out, i have found the difficulty of these heroics has declined exponentially, and even in pugs if there is a competent dungeon guide even Stonecore etc. are easily doable (with a few wipes if most of group is unfamiliar).
On a side note: adds on erudax are slowable.... do it.... it makes the fight easy to an extreme (if your healer doesn't run out of mana), far more so than any other Grim Batol fight.
Dec 16th 2010 8:27PM In my experience pugging since cata, the problem has almost always revolved around tank, not the dps or healers. It seems to me that WOTLK has bred ignorance in tanks. They are impatient, often pulling before properly marking, waiting for pats, out of combat cc's or cc pulls. On an off-note, i have very rarely found threat gen an issue... though vanish/tricks probably helps =p
Dec 16th 2010 8:22PM I was doing heroics in a guild group, all of whom had not reached 329 'properly' at the time, however, we had no trouble.
If it was a pug, it would still not be detrimental to the group, as my experience generally leads to helping the group. E.g. in lower gear, i top charts on bosses, explain fights, cc targets efficiently and quickly, mark targets midfight, blind and stunlock targets that have come out of cc, don't miss interrupts, and slow all targets withing range allowing the tank to kite on harder hitting trash or adds in a boss fight.
So kinda a case of skill > gear. Especially for dps, not so much for tank/heals who really needa be geared to avoid ooming/getting smashed.
