Jun 8th 2010 9:00PM Hey, I'm just rolling "greed" here. I don't "need" that battleground, but if I were so lucky to "win" it, I would be thrilled (end of metaphor).
Enough people at Blizz thought it was a good idea start developing it.....I just wish they would finish it. I would much rather have something like Azshara Crater than another capture the flag BG.
Jun 8th 2010 6:53PM First time ever hearing about Azshara Crater and I have to say that I'm really disappointed that they haven't really implemented anything like this before. To actually be able to run up to a foundation and "build" up a keep/farm/lumber mill......a real battleground of resources (I'm looking at you AB). I enjoy the BGs of today, but I want reinforcements that actually make a difference. I want resources to lead to actual upgrades and not just be a goal for whether you win or not. I want the NPCs who appear to be working to actually be working instead of just being an aesthetic. I want real time strategy back in my Warcraft!!!
Jun 8th 2010 5:48PM I got my first bit of unpleasantness while running my very first dungeon around lvl 17.....Deadmines. Close to the end we ended up doing something that I later learned was called a "wipe". At the time I didn't know what a wipe was nor did I even know what happens when you die in the game since I hadn't died yet. So after I died, my character is laying on the ground watching everyone else slowly die until everyone is dead......and I just laid there for a minute or two. Eventually I released spirit and stood in amazement at the awesome angel looking thing and listening to what she had to say.
One of the more vocal players in the group pst me with something like, "Where are you?". I said "At something called the spirit healer.". To which he politely replied, "Get the F@*% back to the dungeon". I felt bad at first, thought for a second and then ended up rez'ing at the spirit healer.
Looking back I can kinda laugh the whole thing off because of how little I knew. But I think I made the right decision. You shouldn't put up with people that make you stop enjoying the game. It's not about whether they're right or wrong, they're bad attitude will end up rubbing off on you and that's just not worth it.
Jun 7th 2010 1:17AM Figured I would reply to Tom's post since I also had something to say about Dawn's "rule of thumb" for gemming:
Although it seems to work out most of the time, it won't always. Shadow priest are better off knowing how much value each stat holds. http://www.wowhead.com/item=47051 for instance, the Socket Bonus of +7 Spell Power with 2 Purified Dreadstones would be worse than just gemming with 2 Runed Cardinal Rubies.
It also doesn't address what to do if the socket bonus is some other stat. I guess it's fine if you want to follow this gemming advice, but I like to know that I'm getting the most PP for my buck if I'm gonna be spending hundreds on gemming gear.
