The Daily Quest: Meow {WoW}

Dec 14th 2010 5:25AM Just thought I'd ask here...

Is it intended that my heals at 85 are about 30% weaker than they were at 80? I'm a Resto druid, currently gearing in heroics, and I'm having a really tough time of it. But I'm writing this after running an 10m Obsidian Sanctum run, and I'm finding myself unable, and without the tools to, keep 2 tanks up my myself, something I was able to do with relative ease at 80.

Numbers wise: Wild Growth used to tick initially for around 1600, now it's down to 800. Regrowth (despite now being obscenely expensive at 5948 mana) now crits for only 9k, down from 13k.

Does blizzard really expect me to be healing people with 3x the health pools when I'm actually doing less healing?

BlizzCon 2010: Man breaks leg in dance contest {WoW}

Oct 23rd 2010 5:18PM lol... wait... what?

Should have clarified before for anyone that's actually interested, a subluxation is a partial dislocation, so the joint doesn't completely dislocate and stay dislocated, it just kinda comes half out, and still causes a hell of a lot of damage to everything that's supporting it. I spend far too much time around other Physiotherapists (PTs for you Americans...)

BlizzCon 2010: Man breaks leg in dance contest {WoW}

Oct 23rd 2010 5:05PM That's disgraceful that Blizz doesn't have a properly trained medical team on hand. By the looks of the MMO-Champ picture, the guy's just subluxated his tibia, and quite possibly torn his PCL as well... Even someone with absolutely no medical knowledge at all should realize that if you suspect a broken leg (or a dislocated joint), you don't carry the guy off the stage by it...

If it was badly dislocated (which by the fact that he's not screaming in agony, seems unlikely), and they moved him like that, the'd be a high chance of impinging a nerve or an artery in the joint, and the kid would be lucky to keep his leg.

Breakfast Topic: Dealing with unpleasant players {WoW}

Jun 8th 2010 11:42AM I've just recently started playing again, having been out since patch 3.0.8, and I'd have to say that while LFD is brilliant for gearing up, it doesn't half have it's share of jackasses.

It seems to somehow magnify the issues that people have at end-game raiding levels (Best specs, appropriate gear etc), and pull them into somewhere that they don't belong, namely heroics and 5 mans.
One thing that really bugs me now is gearscore. Seems to be the be-all and end-all in terms of pretty much anything. Weekly raids to Naxx on my server often don't take anyone under 5K GS, because the leaders don't want to "carry" them, ignoring the fact that 5k GS wasn't attainable until TotC.

After not playing for so long, my gear after logging back in was, as to be expected, somewhat lacking. However it was by no means poor. I'd been a keen raider back when I'd last played, and my DK was decked out in T7 and Naxx25 epics, as such I was sitting just over 4K GS. Nevertheless after I zone in to UK, I'm instantly attacked by a hunter for my low gearscore.
He started complaining that I was going to wipe us (I was DPSing at the time), and that he didn't want to have to carry me. Went so far as to try and kick me from the group. He then spend the rest of the run MDing adds to me, and then accusing me of pulling threat on nearly every pull... Managed to kick him just before the last boss.

On the same note, a lot of people in LDF are incredibly elitist, and don't seem to realize that some players actually do play casually and don't know the ins and outs of the run. For instance, I tanked an Occulus run for a friend of mine who just started playing again recently (having stopped at the same time as I did).
He'd not run Occy before, and chose a red drake, rather than a bronze (Him being a mage). His was immediately attacked by two the two other DPS in the group, being called an idiot (to put it lightly) and repeatedly voted to be kicked. The rest of the run the two DPS, who were from the same server and kept stopping any attempts to kick, maintained a constant stream of criticism, both for myself and the Healer (who was a Guildie), snide insults directed at my mate, and "gogoggogogogo!!" (same thing every time, I think he might actually have had it macro'd).
When we got to the final boss, they suddenly launched into an obscenely complex strategy for the positioning of drakes, scatter patterns (drawn with AVR) for the astral plain phase, and the timing and order of the time stops for the bronze drakes. Needless to say, said strategy was ignored, boss was easily downed, and the DPS was furious. On looting, the Epic staff dropped, which was a nice upgrade for my friend, and was subsequently needed (between /spit emotes) by both of these DPS (one being a Cat specced/Bear geared druid, the other being a Warlock, both being in ICC gear) and won by the warlock. Both then looted their caches and left after a /lol directed at my friend.

I've also been attacked for how I was specced. Was during a H PoS run, the other DK in the group started calling me an idiot because I was specced for DW frost, insisting that blood was the only DK DPS tree, and that Frost was the tanking tree. I ignored him, and he started cussing me out, then switched to full caps and accused me of hacking when I topped his DPS by 2.5k on the first 3 pulls. Got himself kicked when he started telling me to go and kill myself just before we pulled Garfrost. Wasn't even me who initiated the kick. Makes you wonder why some people play the game, when they seem to spend all their energy on making other people's lives a misery.

As for other people getting abuse, I'll generally try to settle things down and not take sides in party chat, while whispering the abused member and assuring him/her that they are (if they actually are) in the right, and that the abusive member is just being a jackass, so they should ignore him/her.
