The Queue: Amazon now says January {WoW}

Sep 30th 2010 11:29AM Blizzard isn't giving us a release date because they don't know what it is. There's a lot more work for them to do on the expansion than they're letting on.

They announced the release date for TBC in September of 2006.
They announced the release date for WotLK in September of 2008.

If they KNEW the release date for Cataclysm they'd announce in September of 2010.

Hold on to your hats boys, Amazon may be more right than you think.

Aug 30th 2010 10:39AM Ghostcrawler: "Basically we are now engineering opportunities for players to make a mistake."

My initial reaction was, "Wow, so we're all puppets for the developers' amusement. When they don't like how we're dancing they change the beat of the drum." Then the troll implant that I acquired while hanging out in trade chat too long said, "DUH. Where have you been stupid? We've always been puppets."

Then after thinking about it logically, the developers are riding a fine line here and riding it well.

They're keeping enough of the old components of ret Paladin so it doesn't feel foreign to current players. They're changing the skill set and rotation enough so it achieves "gameplay zen" for the influx of new players (and us currently players too).

Gameplay zen is that sweet spot where gameplay is not so hard that it frustrates players to the point of quitting, but not so easy that it bores the crap out of player either.

Good on you, Blizzard. Interested to see how it all turns out.

Breakfast Topic: Connecting with loved ones {WoW}

Jul 26th 2010 10:05AM I have a close friend that moved out of state years ago. We always kept in touch, but as time went on it became less frequent. Recently he started a Death Knight on my server and we have talked and reconnected more while playing than we have in a long, long time. Technology is great!

Jun 8th 2010 12:17PM @Boz - I'm with you. Ignoring while finishing the dungeon is the best solution. No sense in letting jerks completely ruin your game play.
