Mar 13th 2012 1:06AM I think you all need to go see Three Amigos....
Feb 25th 2012 7:37PM You're being rather hyperbolic Gewalt. Obviously, as a tank I didn't have the problem you did but I have plenty of DPS toons and i can tell you that 80% was NOT the failure rate. Sure you might get a tank 80% of the time that wasn't particularly good but you could still work through a heroic.
Neutering tanking and making it un-fun is not a good solution to allowing people to complete content. I realize that Blizz has to worry about the "99%" and I am in favor of this; however, I don't think this was done correctly.
Tanks had entirely too much control over the outcome of the run with healers right there with them. I'm sure Blizz is trying to find a way to share the responsibility amongst all of the members but taking it away from the tank almost entirely just plain sucks, which, once again, is why i very much look forward to active mitigation.
TL;DR-nerfing the responsibility on the role that arguably had the most in favor of the other 4/9/24 other members is not an idea Blizz can perpetuate and it (responsibility) needs to be given back soon, before more people give up on the role all together.
Feb 25th 2012 10:40AM No, they didn't..... yet. I also don't think they lowered the bar to get more tanks in, that would be short sighted, as they would lose just as many tanks as they would gain and given the skill cap I'd be willing to bet the overall shift in skill would go down due to this.
I think this question is premature, it's unfortunate Blizzards plan for active mitigation meant they had to make threat less of an issue but putting another responsibility on tanks would have been overwhelming to most.
Tanks are in a lull right now, Blizz is aware (I have to assume this). Active mitigation is, ostensibly, the answer to this problem. All we can do at this point is wait and see, too bad they ruined tanking for 2, maybe more, patches to fix it.

I think you need to re-read what OP wrote (to which Mr Rossi was replying); nothing about raiding is mentioned.
Also, using an ambiguous term to define another ambiguous term is.... well.... ambiguous. Progression for you might be killing heroic spine while for me heroic Morchock and for someone else might be reg Morchock; which one of us is hardcore? Certainly not all 3.
Feb 6th 2012 11:20AM That one week that the Lunar Festival and Love is in the Air intersect just so happens to be DMF week..... my Fiancee is not going to be happy with me :(
Jan 26th 2012 10:49AM I may have that backwards:
recount-starts calculating when you first enter combat
skada-starts calculating when you first attack
Jan 26th 2012 10:40AM I don't know about a 10k difference but i'm fairly certain that recount starts calculating dps when you first attack as opposed to skada which calculates from when you first enter combat. These numbers, however, should be fairly similar if you start dps'ing right away (don't pull threat from being too hasty though :P). Regardless, your damage done on any particular fight should be the same and if damage matters this should be what you're looking at.
Jan 19th 2012 4:59PM I'm in the same boat as OP here, and to everyone that suggests just turning the buff off seems to be forgetting that you need 9-24 other people to agree with that. My raid team has a very mixed group of skilled players and not so skilled players that take a while to figure out strats/priority targets and as such we take a little longer to down content but we do eventually do it. With these buffs coming up it will be demoralizing to myself and a few others in our group but without a doubt the majority of the raid would oppose the superfluous (and admittedly narcissistic) challenge of removing the buff. I feel like now we'll never know how far we could have progressed. I do, however, understand the purpose of the buff and feel that it is in fact the lesser of "two evils".
Jan 19th 2012 4:08PM Am I the only one getting sick of all these mounts coming in through the TCG? I love mount collecting and think we need to see more brought into the game via 1% drops, rep grinds, rare spawns and achievements. I have no interest in playing the TCG and am not going to spend an absurd amount of money on E-bay.
