Apr 4th 2012 11:14AM shriek, seriously, chill.
i'm not a rogue, and my thoughts about all this is 'let them come!'
they might have the upper hand, yes, but isn't that a challenge to overcome that? what if i die a couple times? big deal, ill do my share of hurt too.
i'm sorry to say this, but coming here just to qq and tell people that you are a better human being for not liking pvp... that makes an asshole, not playing the game by its current rules.
Apr 3rd 2012 11:23AM and btw, you can't really call someone a jerk for killing you first when you don't have good gear. it is competitive gameplay, everybody wants to win the match... and when you see a group of enemies, most of time the first targets should be whoever will fall faster. it just doesnt make any sense to expect people to think 'oh look, that mage only has 100k hit-points, lets leave him alone so he can enjoy himself while we take out the blood dk first'
Apr 3rd 2012 11:15AM I see your point, but I really don't think pvp and pve are much different regarding people.
you don't see heroic raiders jerking around, but we don't really see high-end pvpers doing so. think about those armor sets that require high rating to buy, you just don't see those in regular bgs.
but we do see jerks in both pvp and pve. they might say 'omg this team sucks, horde/alliance always sucks because of you baddies' or they might just link their DPS on a random dungeon.
it is all the same: jerk pvpers kill people in inferior gear in regular bgs and dont move on to rated stuff; jerk pve players get valor gear, faceroll instances and complain on the forums instead of doing heroic raids.
sticking around for a while will help, at least you get enough gear to fight those jerks back and give them a taste of their own medicine, and to get some practice and learn some new tricks.
Apr 3rd 2012 10:07AM "I'm NOT calling anyone a baddie"
sorry about that. and wtb edit button
Apr 3rd 2012 10:05AM There seems to be quite a lot of people saying stuff like 'I hate pvp because I die all the time and it has nothing to do with skill, just with gear.'
Guys, it is ok to suck at stuff. I know gear is important, but so is skill. I'm calling anyone a baddie here - I'm not great either. I think I pvp decently on my main (a lot of hardcore pvp players can me i dont), but I know I suck with my alts.
When I started doing arena, things were ugly, I got murdered BAD. Too much was happening too fast. But if you just try a little longer, everything starts to slow down... suddenly you know what is going on, and you do get to fight back.
My point is: if you just tried a couple times and couldnt get a grasp at what is going on, you havent really tried it. And you do not have the knowledge to say 'skill doesnt matter'.
Mar 16th 2012 9:41AM question: what if blizzard just stop increasing the amount of gold you get from quests and loot? this is getting ridiculous, how much money are dailies quests going to pay at level 90, 70g each?
and this is how gold is injected into the economy, right? so it's like stop printing more money. wouldn't it at least stop the inflation?
Mar 15th 2012 1:11PM I take gnomes seriously. You see, last weekend I offered 1000g for the first guildie to kill a gnome player and send me the screenshot. It was a huge success and we'll probably turn that into a weekly event.
Mar 12th 2012 3:24PM tyler does a pretty good job at his collumns, but no matter how much he plays with the dark arts... he is a fluffly boomkin at the end of the day.
Mar 12th 2012 3:20PM remember that the name 'archmage pants' itself was pinned by one of our greatest dark overlords, dominic hobbs. he also hijacked arcane brilliance once. that was full of win.
Mar 5th 2012 10:34AM oh yeah, about time we got a resident witch here. this is gonna be awesome
