WRUP: In praise of protests edition {Massively}

Jun 25th 2011 6:30PM CCP knows what they are doing and as stated in the email everyone is screaming about, they knew some people would pitch a fit and make lots of noise, but most will continue playing. The few that will quit over this will eventually find their way back in EVE after they realize how childish they acted over a business discussing how to make money.

Breakfast Topic: What part of you does your character represent? {WoW}

Jan 18th 2011 9:43AM I like to heal and tank so I'm stuck playing a Paladin. I'm already annoyed because my racial options are the worst two available to the Horde.

Patch 4.0.6 PTR patch notes updated {WoW}

Jan 12th 2011 1:11AM My favorite change of all is "The Reputation Pane now saves which reputation categories are expanded or collapsed." Thank you so much for this fix.

I can't believe all the heroic nerfs. I guess all the QQ on the forums worked. =(

Breakfast Topic: Has Cataclysm let you down? {WoW}

Jan 11th 2011 11:20AM For the most part I am enjoying the Cata expansion.

The good...

Dungeons are fun again. 5 mans in WotLK were so extremely easy that they quickly became boring for many players. CC is back! Healers have to put more thought into their spell rotation other than spamming 1-2 HoTs or spamming group heals. DPS are more involved in fights now with having to pay attention to interrupts.

Questing is slightly more fun now. I always hated questing in WoW before Cata, but the goblin starting area and the Uldum quest lines were a lot of fun. I hope I never have to run them on a 2nd toon, but they were fun the first time through which is more than I can say about any other quests in WoW.

The new heroic versions of SFK and Deadmines are awesome =)

The bad....

Phasing is still terrible. If a group mate and I are on different legs of a quest we cannot see each other which kills the fun of grouping. Phasing was great for solo play, but as someone who likes to group, I hate it.

Crafting is still nothing more than a time/money sink to give players extra stats. Raw mats on my server cost anywhere from 2-15 times more than the crafted final product. I priced an enchant this weekend, it would cost me 130gp to buy the mats but I could buy the same enchant on a scroll for 6gp. I would so love to see Blizzard do something to fix the in game economy.

Raiding is fun again, but lockout timers are at an all time low. In Wrath if you wanted to raid 10 and 25 mans you could. Now you are restricted to running one or another. I know it's meant to keep people from burning through their content too fast, but they are basically forcing people to roll more alts to keep from becoming bored.

I was super excited when I first read about archeology, but after getting it up to 75 I have to say it is the most boring gathering profession in game.

My biggest disappointment is probably the change to my Warlock. I really loved playing my lock before the changes to the soul shard system, now I cannot even force myself to level him up.

Countdown to Cataclysm: Guild leveling and progression {WoW}

Dec 6th 2010 4:08PM You will have to get revered or higher with your guild before your rep counts towards the achievements. You can't join a guild and immediately get something from the guild or give them credit for something.

Breakfast Topic: Have you tried your hand at running a guild? {WoW}

Dec 5th 2010 11:08AM After trying a few guilds, some friends and I decided to start our own in hopes of finding more like-minded players. I'm the Guild Leader of Primeval on Thrall and I have to say, running a guild in WoW is a different experience from any other game that I have been in. I've run guilds in EQ, EQ2, SWG, WAR, AoC and EVE and keeping people interested and motivated in WoW is probably the most challenging role I've held in almost 12 years of MMOs.

Alliance wins Darkmoon Faire contest; final video unlocked {WoW}

Dec 2nd 2010 3:00PM Must have missed the memo on this one.

Breakfast Topic: Will you be buying either of the new vanity pets? {WoW}

Nov 30th 2010 10:41AM @Zarthog I would agree with you if there was actually skill involved in acquiring these items. WoW rewards players who commit time to the game. Want some PvP gear? Go AFK farm some BG's since winning or losing doesn't matter, you still get rewarded. Want some raid gear? Go farm some 5 mans and buy it. Very few rewards in WoW require skill, instead they are more of a measure of time invested.
