Enter at Your Own Rift: RIFT's battle plan {Massively}

Sep 14th 2011 3:13PM Nice article. I left Wow a few months ago after playing many years and leveling 4 of my toons to 85. I lost my interest during cata like so many others. The constant class changes with the variations of difficulty levels got old. Wow's guild perks were poison to our small guild. I'm 3 months into Rift and I am still liking it. I enjoy playing with the community especially when running dungeons. I only have a couple hours a night to play and just want to get on, relax and enjoy my 2 hours of play time. As long as Rift doesn't continuously reset talent tree points and constant class tweaking then I'm happy.

Enter at Your Own Rift: One-point-four {Massively}

Aug 3rd 2011 12:03PM @LA1111

I'm with you. I will start downloading the patch as soon as I get home.

Cross Server LFG brings back fond memories of Wrath. I am so glad we have Trion's Rift. I am having fun playing this game and this patch will take my experience to a whole new level. Go Trion!!!

The Queue: San Francisco? More like San-ctuary {WoW}

Aug 1st 2011 1:02PM There will be a lot of options to buy items online to bypass the AH. The gold farmers will become item farmers. These online item options existed in WOW but I think it will be ten-fold with this system. Like another person posted - this game will be a gold sellers dream. I was initially interested in playing this game but not so much now. I think Diablo interest will peak quickly and die out just as fast. I will wait to see the comments after the release.

RIFT founders receive free game client for friends {Massively}

Jul 22nd 2011 1:20PM I think it's more relevant here in case it was missed, with all the Rift bashing going on - it's a game I am enjoying. I think most of the people bashing the game are not even playing it. I played 4 yrs of WOW and I think that Rift has a great platform here. Constant improvements makes me feel like I'm getting my money's worth. I'm playing it with a lot of enjoyment right now.

Jul 22nd 2011 12:33PM I played Rift for a couple months then let it expire and went to Runes of Magic. I am happy to say that I am back. I am sooo glad to hear of the new changes happening. I want to thank the Rift Development Team, you guys are the greatest. I just added a 6 month subscription to my account. I have had more positive news from Rift changes the last few days than I could have imagined. I am back due to the cross realm dungeon finder that is coming out in 1.4. Best gaming experience I ever had during Wrath. Now I hear that the dungeons will be able to be scaled for single player or 2 player. My excitement level is through the roof. We will have to see how they handle the ninja loot stealing dirt-bag players but I have confidence in the Rift Development Team to handle this. The steps here are going well beyond WOW's options. Thanks again Rift Development Team!!! As it stands now I may stay with Rift beyond the release of SWTOR (since SWTOR is stating they will not have cross realm dungeon finder due to 'ruining the community' - what a joke). 'Community' is such a relative term - I use to have a 'community' around my parents dining room table playing Dungeons and Dragons rolling 12 and 24 sided dice with my friends but online gaming killed that right. Damn online gaming for ruining the 'community' lol. Go Rift!!!

The Daily Grind: What's your favorite winter zone? {Massively}

Jul 21st 2011 10:41AM I agree Pine Peaks in RIFT. I also think the winter blizzard battles in the instance 'The Realm of Fae' in Rift is cool too.

The Queue: Because Sacco told me to write it {WoW}

Jul 15th 2011 1:31PM If you look at when the RDF was created during Wrath it opened up the greatest opportunity I have ever had playing an MMO. I was able to DPS and Heal dungeons at will. Instantly (relatively speaking) enter as group in the dungeon and exit back out to where I left off. OMG life couldn't get any better than that. I have limited time to play i.e. work, family, kids and going into and running a dungeon when I had time too was priceless. I was able to see more gaming content for my money than I could ever hope to. You more you have to deal with real life the more 'casual' you will be. I had the opportunity to set up dungeon spreadsheets with the hard core players and see what pieces of gear I needed to fill my slots and what boss I had to down to get those pieces. I love dungeons and before the RDF my opportunities were severely limited. Without the RDF I always did LFG - "have you ever run this dungeon?" "What’s your gear score?" "Thanks anyways". Before RDF I was running almost no heroics. After RDF I was running 3-5 heroics a night for 6 months strait, I ran easily well over 500+ heroic dungeons. Best time of my life...

May 19th 2011 1:57PM My wife gets pissed when I play. One night she took all my games and threw them out the garage door and they broke all over the cement floor. Broken plastic cases everywhere. I try to sneak on and play a little here and there. It gets tough sometimes. I usually don't play on Friday - Sunday. I generally play during the week Mon - Thu when she goes to bed earlier. A couple hours here - a couple hours there - that's all I get. I could only dream of pulling an all-nighter. Just trying to keep the peace is hard enough.

WoW Moviewatch: Dalaran Deserted {WoW}

May 18th 2011 1:19PM A lot of peeps I talk to wonder why Blizzard destroys old content. There's no reason they cannot scale the dungeon levels. There is no reason they can't have people go back to old content to complete parts of End Zone Questlines, required parts of End Content Rep Grinds, incorporate materials or items from lower zones for End Content Items ect. I don't see any reason why they should not put ports to all major cities in each major city - why make it so hard to get to where other players are to help them with group quests and such on other continents. We have a mage in our guild - he gets so mad that Blizzard has put pressure on people to seek out mages for porting. He is usually in group and can't break group to port. He's told me anyone that asks for a port now-a-days he puts on his ignore list immediately - he just doesn't want to deal with it. Mage's could still port to more isolated cities/locations as well as major cities to keep their importance. It's funny how they tend to herd everyone like sheep instead of letting peeps have a choice.

MMO Roundup: Blizzard on RIFT, SOE outage compensation, and more {WoW}

May 18th 2011 10:51AM I'm still playing wow ~ 5 nights a week but would like to try something else. We started a new guild and Blizzard has really destroyed any hopes for us to get any larger. We have started guilds in the past and had as many as 100+ in our guild - broken down and left for larger raiding guilds - we still keep the original guilds for personnal guild banks. We have recruited hard the past few months but the way Blizzard has it designed we have no shot at getting a 10 man raid together. We have been beaten into submission by Blizzard, small guilds are no longer able to recruit. No raider is willing to lose their current guild rep to try a smaller guild. Not many looking for a home are going to choose a guild at level 11 (my guild) vs a guild at say level 20. We have had the few drifters stop by and then move on because we couldn't get more peeps to get things going. We are desparately trying to hang on to the couple raiding drifters we currently have - very frustrating. We have a sick website on Guildhosting and Vent but there is no way peeps are willing to try it due to all the Blizzard penalties currently in place. We will let the accounts die on the guild website and vent at the end of this year. Unless you have tried recruiting for a small guild lately you have no idea how impossible they have made it. Blizzard put a big poison sign on smaller guilds. Because of this I have been more interested in trying something new - I am somewhat interested in the new Star Wars game coming out soon.
